If that position is making you that miserable then you should leave it and find something that works better. Burn out rates in your field I would assume are pretty high. That said, It was not Nikki's fault for your experience over there in what you have described as near utopia. (seems a little suspect now) She like you has a right to express her viewpoint and not expect a personal attack, just like you should expect the same. Here's hoping that things turn around and you can start to enjoy your life again. Getting over the flu would probably be a big start. Good luck!

Between all the laws and non-English speaking students, teaching is not what it use to be. I work at a Catholic school and there are some problems, but nothing really bad. In the same town there are 7 k-8 grade schools and 1 high school. The local newspaper frequently covers fights, guns, knives, bomb scares in the public schools here.

Please keep this knowledge under your hat (preferably a faded Cat Diesel baseball cap worn straight on your head). I paid $2.12 for gas yesterday. It's still overpriced, but at least it's going down.
