I'll admit I could have been nicer, but frankly I am dealing with a child death inquiry as well as a change programme with 17 counties and all the problems seem to point to professional egotism by teachers and social workers.

    I have flu.

And I am going to quit today. so excuse me if I don't feel like sugar coating my posts when someone or something annoys me.

And what is this "I'm going to quit today" stuff? This, I am curious about. Do tell. Because I think you are strong, and if you really are "there" hugs my friend.

Maybe I can then be the happy go lucky baloo that joined LP many years ago.

Although I can't relate to that kind of stress, I can understand it. If that position is making you that miserable then you should leave it and find something that works better. Burn out rates in your field I would assume are pretty high.

That said, It was not Nikki's fault for your experience over there in what you have described as near utopia. (seems a little suspect now) She like you has a right to express her viewpoint and not expect a personal attack, just like you should expect the same.

Here's hoping that things turn around and you can start to enjoy your life again. Getting over the flu would probably be a big start.

    Good luck!

I didn't like you much BEFORE your most recent posts, and you haven't done anything to improve my image of you. Like I said, you don't know me and if you're judging my value as a teacher from some posts on a Disney message board, then I think even less of you and your opinion. I'm the one trying to protect children from crazy parents and I'm "frightening" - that makes a ton of sense to me.

You're being extremely unfair. I don't care how long you've worked in your position, but you're making calls on my professional competence based on posts on a DISNEY message board. That's completely unprofessional.

In the same town there are 7 k-8 grade schools and 1 high school. The local newspaper frequently covers fights, guns, knives, bomb scares in the public schools here.

How much farther North and East? Do you mean up here in Massachusetts where gas is $2.29 a gallon?

based on the question thread, my guess is you're doing the right thing. That sureas heck doesn't make it any easier to deal with orless traumatic. I'm hoping it is the first step to getting your life back. My thoughts are with youand your family as you dealwith this. Oneday youmay be able to look back and say -" best thing Icould do " -- but I know today is not that day...

Since I consider you a friend, I'll let you in on a little secret bobbelee if you promise me not to tell anyone about it.
It all started with a little trickle when my family first immigrated here from the UK back in the 1700's, into North Carolina. Slowly, but surly, we have spread our genes out everywhere. We hid under the guise of being mere Goat Ropers, not daring to let it get out that we were Die Hard RedNecks. We are almost in every corner of the World now. Our goal, complete world domination. Soon there will be a joyous complete lack of sophistacation everywhere. I, and my fellow RedNecks look forward to that moment. If we don't achieve complete World domination I'm hoping to a least make enough money to put new tires on my pick-up. Please keep this knowledge under your hat (preferably a faded Cat Diesel baseball cap worn straight on your head).
I paid $2.12 for gas yesterday. It's still overpriced, but at least it's going down.
