This imobilises their legs and they are easy to comb out of the hair. This takes a while so bribery is always a great option. This gets rid of the live lice. The reason you get "another round"is that the eggs hatch fron the first ones - remove this next lot in the same way and you will have broken the cycle. They hate teatree oil so use a teetree oil shampoo for your kids from now on if you can. Head lice have a surprisingly short lifespan once removed from a feeding source, changing/washing your bedding daily is only going to be exhausting extra work that wont have a bearing on the lices lifecycle (bagging soft toys is also a great idea - a week will do it). My daughter has only had one break out which was 4 years ago now and this was the advice I was given then. For extra protection I used a light spray of diluted teatree oil in a spray bottle (well labled) on my daughters hair before leaving for the school bus daily until the breakout was over. Hope you find this useful and that you get that Disney vaction you sound like you so richly deserve. Oh, and the mayo idea sounds a bit icky!

If you watch little boys they are using each other's hats and batting helmets all of the time. Nice way for lice to travel.
