Its so overwhelming! After that I went over to the Native American Museum again for a late lunch. Went to the National Stamp Museum then went to the Air & Space Museum just before closing. WOW, what a day! I thought yesterday was the most incredible day ever. But I have to admit that today was just sensational. The paintings in the National Gallery are just so inspiring. If I could only just bring one or maybe to Winslow Homers home. I'm sure no one would miss them.

After a fun filled day again in DC we drove back to Fredricksburg and did some food shopping. I figure crashing with my brothers family is saving me so much I might as well contribute in a little way. SOOOOO I made my super incredible Italian Chicken Soup! And then we all sat back and watched Napoleon Dynamite. I will post pictues later when I get home.

p.s. Sorry about flaking on you and not getting you that itinerary. I saw my girlfriend yesterday and she apologized for not getting it emailed in time. Sounds like you did not need it at all though! LOL. Sounds like you are having such a great time that I might want a copy of YOUR itinerary instead. :)

I am finding that when you are vacationing in Washington DC your daily schedule is modified by several different factors 1) First off the Smithsonian. Its ONLY open from 10 AM till 5:30pm. And there is a lot to see.
    2) Transportation around town. VRE only runs during specific hours. If your using a day pass on the Metro ( which I was doing ), the day pass doesn't start till after 9:30 AM.
    3) The Smithsonian Museums are spread out and are not all that convient to the Metro stops ( with the exception of the US Post Office and National Portrait Gallery Museums which have stops immediately next to them ). All of this adds up to a huge amount of time spent getting from point A to point B.
    4) All this can be overwhelming. You can only look at so many airplanes, diamonds, paintings, etc.....

I ended up just doing a bit each day. It definately made for a more relaxed visit. Very Very different than my trips to WDW where I hit the ground running at 6 AM and don't get back to my room till 1 AM.

All in all Washington DC is an incredible place. There is so much to see and do. Its always an exciting experience.

Also so glad to hear about the restaurant in the Native American museum. I wish I'd been able to get in there.
