Originally Posted By u k fan The reason I use the exclamation point (or exclamation MARK in the UK) is twofold. Firstly, because when I came to LP I was very new to the internet and was not a member of any other internet communities. Coming from the UK in particular I did feel a bit like an outsider and I wasn't really up to speed with netiquette. Because of this I used the !!! at the end of my posts as a way of saying "My posts are just for fun, don't take them seriously." I suppose it was my British sense of politeness. The other reason is more to do with myself. As I said earlier in this thread I have a real split personality, to this end I have an affinity to the ! which is also multi-faceted (that's a big word for me). Particularly here on the 'net ! is a very reader friendly piece of punctuation. It can mean that my post is taken in jest or as a statement of annoyance. It helps to make the context of what I'm writing personal to the individual reader. Over time I've come to appreciate the originality of my !!!. In much the same way that basil fan posts a link to her excellent website it has become my signature mark!!!
Originally Posted By u k fan The downsides are that !!! doesn't really fit at the end of every post. In a topic about somebody's kitten falling down a well !!! is not appropriate. In these cases I leave it out. In other types of topic I have to try end my post in a way that allows me to use!!!, this isn't always easy. And of course I do sometimes forget. There is a post of mine in a very recent topic that has no !!!. These posts are rare however and are destined to become collector's items if you spot them!!!

I wondered if anyone else did this? Also, to most people it's just my handwriting, but I do wonder what other Disney fans think when they see it, do they even notice and if so do they think I'm sad because of it?!!!

It's also very rare to see a badger as they are nocturnal and can be quite shy. We used to have badgers that lived in a wood that neighboured where I used to live and they were lovely!!!
