    >>Cillpam said that after hearing of the protests Thursday, he circulated a letter that night on the restaurant's Facebook page, stating his intention to run his business apolitically.

"We strive to ensure that every guest receives amazing food and service regardless of belief, race, creed, sexual orientation or gender," he wrote.

Cillpam said he wrote the letter because he wanted to put a human face on his business. Both Cathy and the LGBT community have a right to free speech, he said.

"I recognize that I have a community that has gays and lesbians, and I love my community," he said.

The last few days have been relatively normal, Cillpam said, noting that he's fielded some angry phone calls and entertained a lone protester but that business remains steady.

"Customers have just been eating chicken," he said.<<

Chik-fil-A seems to be doing great today.

And so does the LDS church, by the way.

    Good one. :)

The LDS church does sell chicken at the Polynesian Cultural Center, (delicious by the way) but most of the time we give it away to those in need.

In a hasty phone conversation with The Daily Caller, Chick-fil-A manager Anthony Picolia confirmed that his franchise will sponsor the festival.

In a longer statement sent out by Pride Fest 2012 organizers, Picolia explained that his decision to sponsor the event stemmed from his personal experiences with the gay community.

“Chick-fil-A at Pheasant Lane Mall has gay employees and serves gay customers with honor, dignity and respect,” Picolia said. “We also don’t discriminate in giving back to the Nashua community, donating to a wide variety of causes. I would challenge people to come have a conversation with me before they make assumptions or boycott my restaurant.”<<

    Yeah...no.

    <a href="http://www.businessweek.com/articles/2012-07-10/how-the-mormons-make-money" target="_blank">http://www.businessweek.com/ar...ke-money</a>

As the article notes, the LDS Church donated less to charity in the past twenty-five years than it cost to build a downtown shopping mall that opened this year. There are some minor errors in the article (which is worth your time if you want to understand Mitt Romney's intertwining of faith and business) but the gist is absolutely correct.

Various media, and websites are saying it's in West Hollywood, but it's not. I have no idea why they are making this minor error. It's to the left of Highland Ave. Roughly 4 to 5 full city blocks east of where the West Hollywood east border line ends.

So .. it is in Hollywood, just not West Hollywood.

I also thought it was in West Hollywood at first ... like the heart of it. If it was, I could only imagine the fallout that store would be receiving these last couple weeks.

But they are fairly removed from the thick of the West Hollywood gay community ..... so, they can feel somewhat less uncomfortable.

I don't like Chick fil-A even a little, think it's nasty with exception of the soup...so have no vested interest...but if we looked at the 'belief set' of most CEO's I think we'd be avoiding a lot of places for a lot of different reasons...
I'd like to boycott all the ones who offshore jobs , discriminate against older workers ( by letting them go & andnot hiring them ) - screw workers out of pensions etc..

but yes people have the right to boycott-- and the right to rally-- that is what freedom of choice is all about.
