The streetmosphere at the foot of Sunset Blvd can be bad enough at times (although it is my favourite thing about D-MGM these days). I don't ever feel that entertainment needs to be appropriate to the space it inhabits. Good entertainment should go where there is space. If you can fit it to the area, then that is great, like the awesome Laughing Stock Co. in Frontierland at DL but as the parade winds its way through Frontierland does it make you think it doesn't belong there? No. So why should HSM not be performed there? Never heard any complaints when Magic Music Days were in TL.

I have definitely said that about using the TL pad for the new E-ticket (it isn't my preferred location) but can't see why a small show can't be performed there and have an impact on the land.

The point is, how does anyone justify putting a show like that in Tomorrowland? Others have mentioned the types of entertainment that used to show in Disneyland -- Pizzazz comes to mind -- and how they weren't necessarily futuristic. Which is true. 'America Sings' went into Tomorrowland in Disneyland -- and had nothing to do with the future. That was back in 1974, when everyone at Disney knew what he was doing. Thing is, 'High School Musical: The Musical' regardless of how popular the movie is, has a relatively short lifespan, and will probably be gone in under a year. But to me, it would play better in Disney-MGM Studios.

But I would differ with you in that it didn't HAVE to be in MK. I would disagree and say that with MK's rank as #1 and with the Pirate stuff and Mickey castle stuff, this wasn't a MUST HAVE for MK. >>I can't think of a space at D-MGM where this could be performed as the entire park is very corridor-focused.<< Really? I can think of like 30 areas. >>The streetmosphere at the foot of Sunset Blvd can be bad enough at times (although it is my favourite thing about D-MGM these days).<< Another thing I can appreciate other then when it's preventing me from entering the park in a practical manner. From enjoying spending a day soaking up the buildup that the original designers had in mind with the front areas of the park. People who spend $$$$$ on getaway vacations shouldn't be greeted with chaotic crowding the minute they enter a park. This goes for Town Square too. >>I don't ever feel that entertainment needs to be appropriate to the space it inhabits. Good entertainment should go where there is space.<< I disagree and the people who made Disney great would too. Anybody could point out 10 or 15 examples of hypocricy, but the ideal, the goal was to make things fit well. There was defintion to what placed at the Tahatian Terrace, Golden Horseshoe and Tomorrowland. >>like the awesome Laughing Stock Co. in Frontierland at DL but as the parade winds its way through Frontierland does it make you think it doesn't belong there?<< I'm missing your point here. I'm not sure what your trying to say b/c the parade doesn't visit that area in DL. >>So why should HSM not be performed there? Never heard any complaints when Magic Music Days were in TL.<< Well then you didn't hear me. It's not just an issue of space, which I come to value more now then ever considering what FP and strollers have done to MK. Just looking at it you would think they have the space constraints of DL. No, it's also an issue resources. For Magic Music Days and for this they could have utilizied the Galaxy Theater. The problem is that Entertainment at times gets too much discretion. So instead of painting in TL, they erect and daily support another show area. A temporary one. >>For an area show??? I have definitely said that about using the TL pad for the new E-ticket (it isn't my preferred location) but can't see why a small show can't be performed there and have an impact on the land.<< Not to beat a dead horse, but I agreed with you previously that TL had enough in it. That it had enough in it that there probably shouldn't be more expansion until things like 20K or Adventureland are dealt with. I think your attitude is that this stage will draw people from the main midway. That the sound of it will act like the pied piper. I disagree. Considering Space Mountain is already back there, that Buzz is right next door, that Carousel is right behind it, that TTA is right in front of it, I don't think it's going to have a relevant impact on guest flow. No, in my eyes, it will just add another area of groups of people that one must navigate around in order to get from one point to another. I like the idea of it at DCA. I would have liked to see it go somewhere in MGM.

I can't really comment on anything further in your post Mike as I disagree 100% with it. Entertainment needs to attract an audience that is paramount. Constantly creating entertainment for TL must be extremely hard and I don't see why they should be shackled by such constraints. But then I loved Chance to Shine at DCA. Appropriate for the area, great song, fun and it failed to find a real audience (although Ops had a lot to do with that).

Even if they do it's a roving troupe, it's not like they built a stage. Regardless, this is the sort of entertainment that I think people enjoy when they come to a Disney kingdom park. Bonus points for it meshing with it's surroundings. >>I can't really comment on anything further in your post Mike as I disagree 100% with it. That's pretty much old hat. At leats in DL they use the facilities alreay present. My point of distinction is that this is basically a reenactment of the movie. So, like it's placement in DCA over DL's TL, I think it would be better suited in MGM. I would have said the same thing if they would have not done the highly popular, and what I think is nice, Jedi training and instead put Up with People, ohh, I mean High School Musical on the rising stage at T Terrace. >>But then I loved Chance to Shine at DCA. Appropriate for the area, great song, fun and it failed to find a real audience (although Ops had a lot to do with that).<< I did too. I thought again it was a good fit. I thought it was something different and a nice offering. Now Steps in Time was a whole other boat. That is the kind of show that shows everyone how out of touch some "creatives" in your neck of the woods are. For the other stuff, the 100% , meh, it's ok to disagree. You and I both love Disney, that's all that matters. For example, I think Fitz & Co. are going to kill the novelty of the Living Characters program. I'll post my whine, ohh, I mean observation on the other thread so as not to hijack this one. Cheers!

But Disney really needs to better allocate its funds. The Spirit caught wind of some potentially very dangerous (for guests and cast) situations that are being ignored by management strictly for financial reasons. Not good. Not good at all.
