    It was exactly what I was saying - I WANT Potter to succeed but I'm skeptical that it WILL succeed as required. I've said all along that I want to be proven wrong. The issue is that there is no precedent out there in central FL that has worked.

    Personally I think only WB and JK Rowling will truly benefit - the deal is massively weighted in their favor. IoA can only hope that the attraction of Potter keeps people in their parks.

    M&A although I also did bankruptcy, banking and corporate litigation in training. I hated it - used it as a springboard to get into business development/M&A which is what I do know. Along the way I collected a few other qualifications including a CPA. I'm a sucker for education. :p

    I know, I was joking...LOL.

    And I do too. I do think that IoA will see the rise in attendance, though.... This summer was proof of that.

    Everything! The park is a Disney geek's wet dream - even more so than TDS in terms of detailing and theming. It is a stunning park on a scale we have never seen before.

    And therein lies the problem. They had no coherent plan beyond Opening Day (except for Space Mountain which didn't have a set opening date until it was desperately needed), the park lacked certain capacity for peak traffic (the park was hugely bust/boom in terms of daily attendance) and they spent a fortune on everything. Some things were genius - like the arcades either side of MSUSA - but the park was just so detailed from the outset.

    I believe in two things - menu planning and 10 Year Plans. You need to keep adding new experiences as often as possible when you rely on local and repeat guests. The issue is that EuroDisney is still financing its outrageous debt which is crippling the cashflow of the business.

    We've been told that both September and October were basket-cases for IoA - no idea how reliable the source is but we've been told that their numbers are way below where they projected. WDW's numbers have been decent over the same period.

    I've had friends go, and only one reported a walk on day. The rest have had consistent waits.

    Sure they apply ---they apply nicely since they counter quite convincingly vbdad's absurd position that widespread unique attractions are unrealistic.

    ///We are talking about a MK-style park///

    At first,well 'yes' but the conversation evolved and ultimately splintered into a topic aboout originals/clones at large, no?

    Not summer numbers, but not bad.

    Uni is reporting October attendance up 36%.

    Yup! My mom, sister, and some family friends were there this past week. They said the week was busy but bearable, but Friday was really busy.

    In other news, my sister fell in love with Potter and Uni. My mom is still a Disney person, but that's because she can't do the bigger rides.

    Lol. While Disney incomprehesibly thinks about Uni's Potter success as some kind of future tense possibility, Uni will have already built phase 2.

    Sorry, but I'm not buying the "Mouse Breathes a Big Sigh of Relief" theory.
