    Good luck goofy.

And regarding the previous posts, I highly doubt that Hojo has rooms set aside just to punish you "one night stands" LOL. If they knew they had any so called bad rooms they would do something about it. Indeed some rooms are cheaper than others, depending on their size, location/view, etc. There are different room types, that is why Willie is invaluable, if you do your research.

I've always had exceptional service there. Every single time. I dont want anyone to be scared off of trying this great hotel.

Still both DyG and I can be a little A.R. and did thouroughly do our research in trying to decided on a hotel. We wanted to make sure we got the closest and cleanest room for the price. I don't even consider myself terribly fussy about rooms- if I was, I would have suggested one of the onsite Hotels. No one had warned of the things we encountered there so we had no way of knowing which room to request. I mean, we couldn't really ask for the room with the "working" fridge and the "working" shower- that would have made them quite defensive, KWIM?

Really, I wouldn't want to scare people off from HoJo's either. As a first-timer myself I was very surprised by our "not-so-great" experience with the room-esp compared to all the other good neighbor hotels I'd been to over the many years I've been going to DL. Like I said, I am confident that we would have been given a different non-problematic room had we asked (if we were staying longer).

I agree though, I'm sure they would have given us a different room if we had asked.

For $54.00 I think asking for a cont. breakfast is a little too much ;)

We did go to Mimi's quite a few times for Breakfast and one dinner...cheap, huge portions and tasty :)

In order for the price to be comparable it would have to be somewhere in the neighborhood of 40 on Priceline to be equivalent with the 54 at HoJo. HoJo is a 3 star hotel correct?

Personally for $54/night, I would rather go where I know than chance a hotel on Priceline. Plus you are close to Mimi's (so yummy)

I am picky about parking and I love the HoJo's parking lot. We have never had a problem find a suitable space for our SUV.

I don't think so... you still pay tax on the $54 at HoJo's, so the only additional fee I'm aware of at Priceline is $5.95 per booking. That works out to maybe 2 bucks a night ?? (obviously depends on how long you stay :)

I don't think HoJo's is in line with the 3* hotels I've gotten on Priceline, which are more like the Hyatt, Hilton and Marriott. But sometimes PL throws a stinker in there too. Be sure to check what folks have been getting lately at biddingfortravel.com.

Unless you're REALLY on a budget, tho, HoJo's at $54 is a sure thing and a great deal!

    • Ramada Inn • La Quinta Inn • Holiday Inn

Here is my experience so far

    4/27-4/30
$50 Hilton (near stadium - 3 min drive)
    Had a 2 room suite
5/18-5/20 - yes it was pirate weekend
$55 Courtyard (beach blvd - 7 min drive)
Had king bed and pullout sofa
    6/21-6/24
$55 Marriott (convention way ? drive)
Don't know yet - although this time I think I have to pay to park... :(

I agree about checking biddingfortravel though. I've heard really bad things about the Anabella, and it is one that Priceline offers.

There was one time when they allowed us to upgrade to a kids' suite for an additional $40 per night. We've also gotten the Residence Inn (Anaheim) for only $35 per night. The problem is there are hotels that will not allow you to upgrade or charge a lot to do so and you could get stuck with a king sized bed for a family of 6 (speaking from experience here)! Since you have no way of knowing for sure if you'll get a hotel that's accomodating it is a bit of a gamble every time. In our experience, you have a much better chance of getting an accomodating hotel if you choose 3*'s or more. Again "biddingfortravel" also can be a big clue as to how large a gamble you're taking.

$165 for the room plus $28.50 in tax and service fee. I know the hotel tax is high and there is a resort fee so I don't think they are charging me their service fee per night as that would be about $18 so it must be a booking fee not per night...
