I love the moment in Spartacus where Curtis introduces himself in total Bronx-accent mode as a "sing-guh of sowngs." He later proceeds (because he couldn't sing) to talk his way through something inspirational with a choir singing in the background. Kirk Douglas then says "Ohhhh. If I could sing like that..." Cracks me up every time. I also read several places that: "For “The Defiant Ones,” Curtis insisted that Poitier receive equal billing and not a “supporting” credit in their portrayals of the chained convicts with a mutual cause. “That’s how I got top billing for the first time in my life,” Poitier said. “I think that speaks a lot of him.” RIP Mr. Curtis.
