I wouldn't expect that they'd actually be powering the vehicles. What I'm saying is that the probably won't be high enough off of the ground to allow DCA to have tall parades. I can't imagine that they'd be any higher than the HP Backlot arch was.

Next time you see a photo of the Hollywood Street, take a look at the new light poles. They will give you an idea of how high up the wires will likely be.

There are a couple of photos with the new lighting fixtures - <a href="http://lostworld.pair.com/disneyland/california_adventure/hollywood/hollywood.html" target="_blank">http://lostworld.pair.com/disn...ood.html</a>

I've not seen or heard anything about the catenary wires being able to flip up and down for parades. We have some old photos of Los Angeles on our office walls where I work, including some of the Red Cars. Looking at how the wires are strung, I have a hard time imagining how they could be raised and lowered.

By the way, the trolleys at The Grove and Americana at Brand in Glendale are battery powered as described in an earlier post. Not sure about the one at Americana, but, I remember reading when The Grove opened that their trolley had been designed by retired Imagineer George McGinnis.
