Carriage making, glass blowing, quilt making, an eagle sanctuary, and the most fun of all was Santa's Barn. A real locomotive train that ran through the mountains and came upon ~ surprise! ~ Santa's big red sleigh! Oh, it was so much fun! I've haven't been in quite a few years, but for several Thanksgiving holidays, we thoroughly enjoyed the being in the Smoky Mountains in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, Tennessee and visiting Dollywood!

The theming is very nice and the park is clean and well kept. It's also one of the more affordable theme park experiences out there.

    Anyway, back on topic...

The last thing Disney wants is to make it convenient to leave their World.

Walking in with that expectation I found the park to be quite interesting and navigated away from certain presentations. Their attempts to bring the Holy Land to life is quite interesting... and yet idealized as well to appeal to the theme park visitors. I found the model of Jerusalem during this period and the exhibit featuring the history of the preservation of the Biblical texts to be quite interesting. I also found their presentation of the Wilderness Tabernacle as an allusion to role of Christ to be effectively presented. Obviously their personal views of the Biblical message color it and at times I disagree with certain of their assertions but I knew going in I'd differ so took gleaned from the experience what was of interest to me.

Another Christian based experience here in Orlando that I found quite interesting was visiting the WordSpring. This features a demonstration of the efforts of Christian missionaries who live among peoples around the world and bring the Bible to them. What interested me was the study of language presented here. In some cases the peoples had no spoken language so the missionaries would assist with the creation of the written language. I found that process to be quite interesting.
