So what is the median price these days?

Two single people could live there and pay $600 per month each. Our, even two couples. That would be $300 per person.

I feel bad for the "motel kids" - most of their parents have made some bad choices along the way.

A lot of the families are simply migrants. They come into town looking for work and end up moving on when they found out that just because we make all those "best places to live" lists it doesn't mean that good paying jobs are easy to find.

Um, no. You said $3000 a month to rent and he's paying $1,200. And where do you get "cramped apartment" from what he wrote, when he mentions "even two couples" could live there?

I said $3000 to rent a house, not a 2 bedroom apartment. Yeah, I was wrong about the house rental cost.

<<And where do you get "cramped apartment" from what he wrote, when he mentions "even two couples" could live there?>>

A 2 bedroom, 1 bath apartment is "cramped" by my book, especially for two couples. I guess you SoCal folk just accept this as normal.

Where was that motel?? I don't think it was on Harbour BLVD

I live 8 minutes away from Disneyland in Garden Grove and my rent is $1,200 for a 1 bedroom apartment.

I notice that some Disneyland cast members live here. They are students with roommates and I suspect they get some help from their parents as well.

That's right near the Katella lot.

The neighborhood further down Haster St. isn't so bad. I ride the bus through there and people seem okay and there's a nice park.

I live near Haster and Chapman and I'm not afraid to walk around here.

Of course, the worse your credit score, the larger the deposit you'll be asked for. As so often happens, life is actually more expensive if you're poor.

"If you have to ask, you can't afford it."

padmapper.com reports that the median 4-bedroom rental unit in the Anaheim area goes for $2200/month.

Then you should come to NYC and see what kind of apartments we have here! Just the other day I was visiting a friend who lives with his mom, brother, & grandma, all in a one bedroom. Each "room" has a bed. Grandma's is in the kitchen, and the others are spread out between the living room, and the actual bedroom. This is kind of normal for the area too.
