The last nighttime parade at Disneyland Park in Anaheim was Light Magic, which only lasted one season in 1997. The park does have the popular Fantasmic show, but in my opinion DL is waaaaaay overdue for a classic nighttime parade down Main Street.

But like the Wilderness Lodge and Grand Californian (and even the Sequoia Lodge), there seems to be a certain same-ness to them even if they are quite popular Side note: I've never stayed at any of those hotels, but I've wandered past/through them and would love to do it some time if I could afford it, so I'm not knocking them in any way

At the risk of being repetitive in this thread, I would guess that WDI's primary design criteria is how SDR will appear to Chinese guests, and they are probably not very concerned about providing global variety to fanboys on the internet, especially when many of which will probably never visit SDR one way or the other (and I don't mean you specifically).

The new building looks completely out of place and out of scale with the surroundings, like it was just dropped in there with little thought (which seems likely) It's also interesting that they're refurbishing the entire other side of Main Street at the same time. In a way, it makes sense to get it all over with at once, to impact as few guests as possible. It seems like the park just opened a couple years ago, but it will be turning 9 this year, so I guess it makes sense that they're doing major refurbishments and repainting, since things are starting to age (especially in the humid HK air)

I wonder if they're also doing some prep work for a future phase or some sort of unannounced addition

The attractions in the park are spaced out like they are at MK, but the park is the size of DL. When you don't have a lot of space to begin with, you need to use it wisely; there's a lot of dead space within the park that would be very difficult use without huge realignments of certain areas. Other than the proposed Peter Pan ride in the Pooh/Festival of Foods building, are there any attractions pads inside the berm? I'll just be curious to see what HDKL looks like in 10-15 years when the train route goes through the middle of the park, rather than around the outside; it's particularly strange since they have the inward-facing passenger cars And the Iron Man site: is that whole thing for the attraction? It seems like the part where the crane is located is pretty far away from the in-park guest areas, and on the other side of a backstage access road. Maybe it's just for a backstage building?
