The people who support the destruction of SWSA believe will be an exciting roller coaster replacement (WDW's answer to HP as in Harry Potter). I think it is funny that mothers think SWSA is so scary it must be terrible and be removed but HP movies and theme park ride is not at all too intense. RoadTrip I am so thankful I learned to love DL and WDW as in the past because the future is scary. I have been trying to visually walk thru the theme parks and realize MeetnGreets have taken over everywhere. Can you think of any street corner without a line for these?>> 1) The no where has Disney said we were getting a roller coaster, this has been debated in other places! We are getting a dark ride with roller coaster track and roller coaster like cars. I for one don't expect it to be intense, I expect my 5 year old to be able to ride it!!! 2) SWSA as a ride is totally lame, it is like a carnival dark ride with wooden cut outs of characters. At least Pooh which is based on the same system has better effects and isn't quite so boring. No matter how bad the mine ride is there is no way it could equal SWSA. 3) As for the tents, Dumbo + Circus = Tents, it's called a theme and it works. Most importantly my kids will love it. I wish people would judge Disney not just on an adult level but on a kid's level. It was supposed to be and is a FAMILY park every ride doesn't have to be EE, and the last thing any one should want is for it to turn into a thrill park like Busch Gardens. On the other hand if you really want a thrill park please go to BG or Uni or IOA, there is nothing wrong with them they are just not friendly to families with young kids. Though I would argue more adult/teen rides would fit in DHS or Epcot.

Are you saying that I now need to think like a child to enjoy the Magic Kingdom? For the first 25 years of its operation, that wasn't required. Most attractions at the MK could be enjoyed by adults and children, and EPCOT was certainly enjoyable for all ages. It's only in the last 15 years or so that Disney has lost the ability to create truly "family friendly" attractions.

Hey, what do you all think of that great new MK parade? Or that amazing new ride at the Studios? Or the incredible rethinking of Pleasure Island?

Hell, the only characters I ever wanted to meet were Mickey and the Ninja Turtles in DHS. My family never would have wasted our time with the crap that's going into FLE save for Seven Dwarfs and Mermaid.

What you seem to be advocating is for Disney to only focus on making attractions that appeal to children, or people that think like children, and that to me is just creatively lazy. Anyone can come up with a ride that a child will enjoy - but it takes a lot more talent to develop an attraction that speaks to people on multiple levels, and can be enjoyed by people of all ages. Now I'm not suggesting that EVERY ride at WDW must follow that model - there is a place for roller coasters and kiddie rides - but those should be the exception, not the rule. Disney needs to focus on what made it famous in the first place - designing attractions that could be enjoyed by all members of the family.
