In my neck of the woods, I'd say they're about the same. But of course prices and selections will vary from market area to market area. I personally like the feel of a Lowe's better. They just seem brighter and cleaner. Is one more conveniently located for you?In one part of town here they're next door to each other so it was easy to run between the two for comparison but in most parts of town they're fairly well separated.

You can install a curtain rod fairly easily, and patching the wall when you move out is a pretty simple thing. There are also the tension-mounted shower rods that you can probably use as well. Do you ever take baths? One trick my mom uses is to keep the hot water in the tub and to close the door to the bathroom overnight. The tub gives off a lot of warmth as the water cools, and the bathroom is nice and warm in the morning.

It doesn't have a heating coil like your usual space heaters.

Sorry *sheepish* They're not next to each other, but Lowe's is on the way to w*rk, and Home Depot is on the way to Wal-Mart ("Grocery Central" for me). I almost always take baths, Tom---shavin' works better for me that way. I have really sensitive skin, and don't get nearly as many "blood dots" as if I shave at the sink. (ick) <Check them out in your department store. > goodgirl, if I had my own department store, I could afford to turn on my heat more. ;-P <Gee, TDG didn't comment on the turtleneck idea!> Hey! I did too, Lulu! That's what my comment to 2oony was in reference too. lol ;-)

Never mind. As for Home Depot and Lowe's, we're s.l.o.w.l.y. getting the latter up in here in NorCal, so I'd go for the Home Depot. Besides, Home Depot sells Kingsford Charcoal briquets for $12.99. Did I mention that this is for TWO *24*-lb bags? Speaking of stores that we're slowly getting, Kohl's just opened up in my neck of the woods.

I've never tried any home improvement things before, lol.

They are tearing down my building in the next few months, so I will have to move, but of course I can't find anything around here that is even comparable. Oh and Dreamfairy, I deel you on the fuel thing - I have it too, and even though I'm moving, I had to drop my $300 on 100 gallons so my neighbors don't find me frozen in the bedroom.......... Thanks for letting me hijack your topic for a sec TDG, I needed to "vent"........LOLOLOL I crack myself up.......

Well they actually *do* make a difference---quite a noticeable one! I guess maybe the design of 'em along with the powerful air flow propels the "jet stream" even farther down than I imagined, which allows it dispense into more of the air instead of just wastin' up to the ceilin' (the vents are right below the ceilings). I got 2 fer the livin' room vents and 1 fer the bedroom. Course, it's been warmer here since I put 'em in, but still, I like to think they make a big ol' difference, lol. Ain't got the kits up yet (ugh, too much work), but I'll get to it someday soon. ilvdland, I'm sorry you're havin' to find a new place---hopefully you'll find one with much better air systems!
