At the high end, they have an "American Kobe" burger for $16, and a genuine Kobe burger for $60. See: http://www.usmenuguide.com/bur gerbarmenu.htm I went in there recently intending to order the real Kobe burger, but just couldn't bring myself to pay $60 for a hamburger, no matter how good the beef was. And I agree, ground beef is not the way to enjoy Kobe. <<< But beyond that, I can't believe any idiot would pay more (even $44 is silly). >>> Can you imagine the idiot that would pay $70 for a double Kobe steak lunch?
Originally Posted By Mr X >>Can you imagine the idiot that would pay $70 for a double Kobe steak lunch?<< Now see, the funny thing is that didn't phase me at all (well, the lunch part threw me a bit...but I can understand and HAVE indulged in 2 steaks for dinner). I suppose it's all the way you look at it. As you said, you "couldn't bring yourself" to pay that much for a burger. And yet you, me, and many others happily shell out double that for a steak dinner at the Brighton or wherever. Perception is reality I guess (I'm perfectly happy with my burgers under $15 though, thanks very much). p.s. I guess when you come right down to it, I don't want to spend that kind of money on a burger because I can imagine the many superior experiences I can have for the SAME money (a great 2 hour dinner at a top notch restaurant, with all the trimmings, plus maybe a movie to boot...all for $60).

BUT, I paid $10 several times for the super-duper hand crafted burger special at Mos Burger (another fast food joint) and it didn't even occur to me that I could have gotten 3 big macs for the same price.

Not even Disney would charge $45 for freaking Salmon. After all, people have to buy the stuff, and who would buy it at $45??)>> Trippy, if you really are so cocksure I'm mistaken, that my old eyes have failed me yet again (like everytime I see something wrong at WDW), my all means, pick up a phone and call to the resturant. And ask ... and ask if the menu is the same one that was used the week of June 6th on ... Otherwise, just let it go because while I'm not perfect I know what I saw and I cringed when I saw it. Oh, and then call to Jiko and ask about the $24 bowl of veggies and grains that I didn't eat and pay for either!

If Disney has jacked the price like that it will show up sooner or later at Deb Will's place.

What Trippy said was they are not the 'average' WDW visitor. Average in my day meant - not all - but a mean average - the typical WDW visitor if you will. And I am saying that many of the Vero visitors I have met in 6 trips there , and just that - WDW visitors. In my estimation - average, and unless someone can prove different by somehow measuring their 'averageness' ( ?) - there is no flaw....

Personally I think Le Cellier is still top notch. I can't say much about any others as I haven't been to WDW since 2005.
