Hmm. It wasn't noticeable last night. I was actually listening pretty carefully, too.

I did check out the sound under the SSS. During spoken sequences there was a noticeable echo. There are dedicated speakers in that area-- they are obviously not tuned to the sound coming from across the water. Big surprise-- at the Fun Wheel end of the SSS patio, the projections were partially visible. Who knew?

We got the dinner at Trattoria and went to the 9pm WOC show. The dinner was not what I expected. I thought we would have a choice of appetizers and I thought I would be able to get tiramisu for dessert. That being said, the salad was small but good, the dinner (I got the seafood pasta, husband the lamb) was good and plenty of it. The dessert was strawberries in sauce, some kind of chocolate tart and a lemon creme thing that was to die for. We were pleasantly full afterward. The service was okay but we did have to wait for refills on our beer and wine. We weren’t offered anymore bread when it was gone before our meal. Our tickets did not have a color zone on them so we were a little unsure but we went over to the pier area about 6:30 or so. We found a place to sit and had good conversations with others who didn't know what to do either. About 7pm they cleared out the Paradise Park area. We went down the "street" that goes to Grizzly Rapids. We found some steps on one of the building facades and sat until just after 7pm. At that time there was a bit of a crowd waiting to get into the area, we joined them and soon after they let us in. We formed a line for the blue zone (a CM had told us that is where we needed to go) and we all filed in. We did not want to get wet so we didn't sit near the water. In fact, some people who had the picnic meals were right next to us. We were at the top of the steps in the back of that circle thing (is that the fountain everyone talks about?). This was a good spot for me, being short, but we did miss some of the effects that were right on the water. I think if we had gone on the steps on the other side of the "fountain" we would have seen better. We sat on the steps but still got a bit sore by the time the pre-show started. I loved the show (I am a huge fan of the Bellagio Fountains). The sound was amazing. Can't wait to go again. Next time we will get the picnic box and save some money. (Oh, you get them in these cool reusable bags!) They encourage you to not have to line up early for the show but if you are short like me you might want to try to be among the first to get in.

The Preferred Reserved area is the upper two levels in the Blue area. The tickets do not say "Blue," but that's where it is. The upper two levels include part of the interactive fountain area.

You're only elevated above folks in front of you if you're at the top of the step areas, or behind the railing on the right side. I think top of steps in the front side of the circle is better than back. I'd like to try way in the front, and also behind the side railing. I think you'll notice different things from each location.

I agree-- standing further back and higher is better, unless one is determined to be surrounded by the spectacle. (And doesn't mind getting a bit wet!)

Im sure they opened it later, but they really need to organize it better.

Poor planning, that bit. We were with a family who had a member in a scooter because of asthma / COPD type issues, and she wound up parking her scooter off somewhere, and walking in and sitting down to be with the family. She was ok standing through the show, but she was very tired by the end. Most of her issue is getting from here to there, but for someone with more critical mobility issues, it would have meant being off somewhere away from your family to see the show. Suckage.

But the way the Park has been built, there's no part that you can't get to via ramp, although it might take a switchback or two to get to every level.

Thus, Paradise Park is wheelchair accesible. But since it's a standing show, you'll need to stand or get there early enough to get a front row spot if you are in a wheelchair.

But legally, and from a building code and design perspective, Paradise Park is wheelchair accesible and meets every Federal ADA and California mandated design rule.
