To say it was magical is an understatement. 2. March 1994 - I met my husband in line for the Sky Buckets. I was a SR in highschool. First Trip - I don't know the exact date, but it was in the early 80's. I think I was 5. We drove from Texas. When we got to the parking lot my parents told my brother, sister and myself that we were not going in, we were just looking at it. Most Recent - March 2004 Goin back - October 2006 I can't wait to go. Both my children will be tall enough to ride Space Mountain. Yeah!! Also, we are staying at the WL.

Back then, as you drove on the property they had a radio station that told you what lane to be in and all about what you were about to see. Remember back then there was just MK and EPCOT Center had just opened. It was the first time I was able to afford such a trip and whatever it cost was well worth it. We went again, as a family, a few more times and I escorted a number of Physically and Mentally Challenged individuals there about 5 or 6 times. Since my divorce in 2001 I have been another 4 times solo, not counting the upcoming one. As I gaze down Main Street now, I see my kids running excitedly and can almost hear them calling for me to hurry up because they want to see the castle or ride Dumbo or the Teacups. Nothing can ever replace those memories. I will be reliving that again in 2008 when I am treating my whole (extended) family, my daughters, their husbands, my grandchildren, my sister and my nephew to a family trip. It's going to cost a small fortune but, heck, I can't take it with me so I might as well enjoy it now.

After 1100 miles on the road by that point--anything Disney sounded good !

For instance, I was going to take my nephew to Disneyland, but instead I drove him to an old burned-out warehouse. 'Oh no,' I said, 'Disneyland burned down.' "He cried and cried, but I think that deep down he thought it was a pretty good joke. 'I started to drive over to the real Disneyland, but it was getting pretty late."

I remember getting so psyched listening to that and constatnly checking every window for a glimpse of something! When did that radio station go quiet?

Now, that I am a parent, I think it's really funny. With our kids, we got on the monorail before going into the park. As it went around, we told them that was all there was to do at Disney World and we had to go home. My 6 year old said that I was being mean and I had to go to time out and could not have any fun.

Our high points and favourites: 1992 with our daughter Jennifer who was a year old (she hasn’t missed a trip since) 1995 with our second daughter Stacey who was 6 months old (she hasn’t missed a trip since either) 2000 when we stayed on site (Movies) for the Millennium Celebration….Wow! It’s a two day drive, and we stay off site (reasons of affordability) but the trip is soooooo worth it!
