In my current household there are two of us so we eat meals together each and every night. Its a lot easier when there is only two or you.

"TV is NOT The Truth, Even if You Think it Is"

    I love this insight:
"What is the purpose of news?
    To inform the public?
    Hardly.
The primary purpose of news is to keep you in a state of fear and uncertainty so that you'll watch again tomorrow and be subjected to the same advertising."

    Sorry to change the topic!

DD and I eat dinner together every night that she's with me. Breakfast and lunch, almost never! Somehow those meals we just eat when we're hungry!

I'm not sure my folks deliberately intended it as a way of training us in debate and critical thinking, but it had that effect.

We always have the TV on when we eat. It's not that we can't have conversations...we can. We just like travel shows and cooking shows and home improvement shows so we watch them and discuss them. I love eating to Antiques Roadshow. We try to know what each item is worth before they say and I love guessing what the guests really think about the appraisals.

Such as going to musuems, aquiriums, shows. Also there is a lot to be said about actually reading books and magazines.

Shameless plug of Laughing Place Magazine here!!!!

Most nights we eat our dinner without the TV on, if something very intriguing or a world event of some kind is happening we will watch while eating.
