Just kidding, of course, but all the negative hype caused me to hesitate the first time. I stood outside for about 45 minutes talking myself into riding it. I have never had motion sickness but still I was, ok, I'll say it, scared to ride it. I finally talked myself into it and was I ever glad I did. My first words at the end of the ride were "that was awesome". It was the best, and still is, ride I had ever experienced. The theming was so perfect that it almost seemed real. I didn't notice if the graphics were perfect. They were perfect enough to seem real. That said, I can understand why some have been hesitant to try it and some have talked themselves into being sick before they ever set foot on it and many have missed out on a great experience because of it. I feel bad that Disney spent that much money, after being accused of holding back, only to have it sabotaged by unwarranted fears. All you self proclaimed "thrill seekers" get your butts on that ride and make it the success it should be. My only regret is that they leave you stranded on Mars. It's a long walk back to Future World from there.

I'm with Dave above, I'd rather see Horizons still at Epcot as it was one of my favorite Epcot experiences ever! At least it didn't make me nauseous! I also loved the look of the old Horizons building, it was one of the best looking pavilions in the park (second only to Spaceship Earth). Mission Space's facade is impressive, but the building is just a box.

Actually this is one thing that I find sad about this pavilion because the original plans would have been so incredible. Instead of "training" for a trip to Mars it was supposed to be an actual space station. The ride was only one piece. Good ol' budget cuts.

I'm a 55 year old guy who is slightly overweight. I have high blood pressure and high cholesterol (both controlled with medication). I've got a history of heart disease and early death (my dad died at 55) in my family. I'm the guy they put up the warnings for. Of course they put those goofy warnings on everything. I think they even have a warning on Small World now. It's not because there is any realistic fear that something might happen. It's because their corporate legal department makes them do it. You are considerably more likely to die in an accident while traveling between MCO and WDW than you are on any attraction at WDW. I think the reputation of Mission Space is one area where the fan sites have done a real disservice. They have successfully killed off the enthusiasm for one of the best attractions every created. But then they did the same danged thing for DCA, so I guess I shouldn’t be surprised. The Uber Fans control the experience.

Doesn't bother me so much with M:S but it does lower Soarin' several notches in my book. Either way, I wouldn't particularly want to ride either of those more than once a day.

It's not a bad attraction by any means--but it's not very different from watching an IMAX film in a stationary seat. Yet the online community has said it's the greatest thing Disney ever created. But M:S is definitely a unique experience, only to be found at Epcot. For that, I'd say M:S is a more successful, audacious attraction.
