It would be like if two beautiful girls were standing next to each other and one was a 10 and the other was a 9 1/2. You wouldn't say the 9 1/2 was ugly but people here would because she's not a 10.

Also want to say welcome to YumaJohn who obviously cared enough to ask what was acceptable to everyone around here at Laughing Place. I am sure you will enjoy this place as much as I do! In fact, I enjoy it so much I am spending a little too much time here and too little time doing all that other stuff I am supposed to get done. Everyone here is more fun!

I may really be in the minority here but I like DCA waaaaay better than EPCOT. I've been to EPCOT twice and have no desire to go back. Keep on Keepin' on YumaJohn

But--the earlier comment is right: it's no Disneyland (uh, YAH), but it's still better than the average amusement park. I think specifically about the parks surrounding the SF Bay Area--Great America, Marine World (or as they prefer to call it these days, "Six Flags Discovery Kingdom"), and the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk--California Adventure is cleaner, more well-run, and--LOL--less crowded! I'm looking forward to seeing the results of the overhaul, or reboot, or whatever it is. All of which is QUITE off-topic, so I'll throw this in: Yes, I have noticed a spike in sensitivity/poor manners recently.

Part of what I think makes my local parks as trashy as they are is the ready availability of alcohol. If it's only in-restaurant imbibosity, well, that's better than carry-along, but still? Nope.
Originally Posted By wonderingalice My apologies, jdub... I misinterpreted your other post. 1. "Son" was my failed attempt at playfulness. 2. I've never seen anyone carrying go-cups, so I think it's discouraged. Everything at the Cove Bar comes in a glass container that I wouldn't dare think of carrying away from the immediate area. I'm not sure about the beer and margarita places (I think they're served in plastic, but I would imagine Security would step in if they saw one of the full cups wandering around). Since they serve alcohol in DTD, my own reasoning is that DCA is also separate from Disneyland. I would never advocate a change in beverage policies at Disneyland. It IS my Happy KID Place.

But now that I have had the chance to really get to know the park, I am very pleased to visit there. I absolutely love Soarin' and Screamin' is up there with my top coasters. I love to take my grandchildren there when Disneyland is having a really busy day. I love Mickey's Halloween treat as well. So, I am glad I did not get all stubborn and gave DCA a try. I also love the fact that we can hop over there for ice cream and coffee with almost no wait in line. >>>>>Ssssshhhh, don't tell the haters about our DCA love fest.
