Also, indoor meals (RRPP, Plaza Inn, Blue Bayou) are good. Outdoor meals are still stifling . . . .

The most important is to hydrate. All counter-service restaurants (Village Haus, Stagedoor Cafe, that train complex at DCA, etc.) will give free cups of ice water--so take advantage and keep hydrated.

If you can do it, absolutely leave in mid-afternoon, swim and/or shower, change clothes and shoes, and return only after sundown. Shedding the grime and giving your feet a new set of footwear will make the evening on a hot day 125% more bearable. I promise!

The Hillbillies of course. Bring in a cold drink relax and enjoy a great show.
But since we live in Phoenix, just going to Disneyland is cooling off. phewww. It's hot right now.

What's a neck towel? They start life as the large towels used in the restrooms for baby changing table covers. Take one out, open it up and refold it in the opposite direction so that it is about 1 1/2"-2" wide, and as long as possible. Run it under cold water, and place around your neck. Works great!

But, don't tell anyone. It's our LP secret.

I stay in the shade as much as possible to keep from getting burnt, and drink lots of water to stay hydrated and healthy, but otherwise I just enjoy it. I don't like spending too much time in the really air conditioned places as I find that I get really cold and it is not pleasant to always be changing from too hot to too cold.

    - Main Street Cinema

    Outside of DL
    DCA:
    -Animation Pavilion

    DtD/Grand Californian:
    - grab a drink and sit it out in White Water Snacks
    - go see a movie at AMC14
    - sit in the lobby of the Grand Californian, and get a chilled drink.

    So ....
while there are rides like Pirates and Tiki Room that can last up to 15 minutes ... you have no choice but to leave when the ride is over. Plus you have to wait it out in the hot sun before you get in. So if the heat is really tough on you ... I'd stick with my picks, above.

AGREE but if u forget it or dont get one, than do this... if u happen to have a water bottle empty, than fill it up w the drinking fountian water and poke several holes in cap and spray away. I did this once on a hot day and it was perfect compareed to the Disney fan spritzers!

Also, if there early, than go start ur day getting soaked at Princess Dot pupple park things in a bugs land and that farmers place in DCA

    I agree 125%.

It is interesting to hear everyone's different methods to handle heat. The neck towel is a great idea that I will make use of.

    Can't just let that go.

Nothing beats Disneyland on a dark, cold, rainy night. :)

Star Tours is also usually VERY air conditioned. A spin through Small World is a must IF it was open. A killer though if the boats are backed up and you end up sitting in the sun before disembarking.

Plaza Inn, indoors is a nice place to get a drink and maybe a dessert snack in the afternoon, usually it's not too busy between lunch and dinner rush.

The mister in the farm area in DCA is great for a walk through, adults included. A Bugs Life is also a nice "relaxing" cool place. Not great if you don't like bugs though :) The Animation building is very cool (both meanings of cool)and you can spend quite a bit of time in there if you hit all the areas.

Take a hand towel or washcloth, wet it, and put it around the back of your neck. You'll see road workers and construction workers wearing these. Not only will it cool you off, but also protect the back of your neck from sunburn. When it dries, simply re-wet it in the restroom sink. Please don't re-wet it in the drinking fountain - that's gross! ;-)

I drink a bottle before I go (yes, at 7am). Drink another by breakfast. Have a couple of gatorades, and drink a few more waters. For God's sake, stay away from the sodas and those delicious frozen lemon drinks. You'll feel so good in the evening, when everyone else looks/feels/smells like zombies. But, whatever, I always see parents giving their kids soda, candy, and chips for breakfast. No wonder everyone is in such a foul mood by the late afternoon. :)
