One thing I am very stict about too is that she is not allowed to have anybody under 21 in the car with her for the first six months of driving with a license. I can't tell you how many kids I know that don't follow this rule. As easy as it would have been to allow my daughter to catch a ride to work with the other girl that worked with her I just wouldn't allow it. This is a deal breaker and my daughter knows it. I really try to impress on her that the rules are there for a reason.

Originally Posted By Mrs ElderP I know it is technically the law that your first time out be with a certified instructer type person, but there is no way to prove you have or have not. Your permit looks the same, there is no box to check off, ect. Condsidering that many kids start driving in the parking lot or field or whatever before they even have a permit, it's a pretty useless, if well meaning rule.

Now the real scary stuff begins when he starts driving with us. I say us, but I mean my husband. I'm just too nervous to get in the car with an inexperienced driver.
