Cold rain wouldn't be ideal for the entire trip, but we're certainly use to making the most of rainy weather.

And since I happen to love rainy weather, I do kinda have a fantasy where I'm walking around at Disneyland in the rain and the park is practically empty because everyone else left. And then suddenly I look up and Captain Jack is standing there with a come hither look in his eyes....kidding.....sort of :)

Thanks! Always good to be reminded of these dates to avoid!

We probably get even more rain in Vancouver and i HATE the rain. When i am on vacation i am trying to leave the rain, so im not pleased when the weather sucks.

Deb, i know that the weather is never guarnteed, just from my experience i wouldnt plan to visit that time of year again.

I got excited the other day when I went to their site and saw all the open days for what I thought were Retro Rates, but are now 30% off. :( So went to their FB page and they commented that Retro Rates can still be available, but you now have to sign up for their email list to get notification of when the Retro Rates will be available.

Ditto on the Boo. For the weekend we are going on an upcoming trip, the cheapest room with the 30% discount is $120/night for the Double Bed room and goes up from there.

I love HOJO, especially because of how much my kids love the water play area, but I can typically find another hotel along Harbor for less with larger beds and a breakfast. We are staying at BWPPI for $98/nt instead.

I never understood why they did not enforce a minimum 2 day stay policy on the busy weekends. It is very frustrating to see a Friday open with No Saturday availability when traveling because the locals want just one night . I always wondered if the manager would "bump" a one- nighter for a guest guaranteeing a 3 or longer night stay...Once my niece arrived and was told some of the rooms had been flooded and her Saturday night stay was not available with a too bad no assistance to find a room elsewhere. I won't name the hotel on Harbor since they have improved their facilities and management...

BUT it is very good advice to give a reminder to check Hotel policies because they are enforcing many new restrictions and penalties..

Even though we are disappointed , Hojo's has been good to us over these last ten years in Disneyland : )

For me, this is true. I never would've considered staying there without the word I read here (and the discount code).

But the 30% AP rate requiring a 30-day cancellation is a no-go for me. I had no problem when they changed that policy for the Retro Rate as I would only be out $59 if I had to change my plans last minute - but I won't do it for $120+. Hojo will be loosing me if this sticks.

with a shuttle and breakfast. My husband is delighted, he really likes Candy Cane Inn. I liked the retro vibe at HJ, reminded me of Disney of old and put me in the spirit.

Stayed at HoJo last week on a 50% retro rate I booked last Spring. I'm sure it is the last time I'll stay there for $59/nt.

They are redoing the double bed rooms (Buildings 3-6) with new carpet, flat panel TVs, and Mary Blair-type Small World art work. Maybe another reason for the price increase.

My kids enjoyed the play pool area again too. Sadly, they want to stay there each time, but our next two trips are futher south on Harbor next to the cross walk for $20-30 less a night. Sorry HoJo. We will miss you.
