It is not and has not been getting to the poor. Too much money gets swallowed up in government waste before it ever gets to the poor.

In the U.S. privatized healthcare system, 20% of costs are administrative. In Canada's, it's 6%. We have the highest bureaucratic costs of any industrialized nation - though it's all privatized.

So once more, what are these people protesting? It's not about saving money, since the plan will actually save that in the long run. If we keep the status quo, we're going to go bankrupt. So the new talking point is, "Why do we have to rush this?" Which is another excuse for doing nothing.

Of course it was, but only if used as a negative term against white people. If a white person busted out racial slurs against another race, it would be racism right?

The double standard that exists in America is disturbing to say the least....

I guarantee you if I used a deragatory term for a black person instead of the Million Man March, I would more than likely be banned from posting here.....

"Bury Obamacare with Kennedy" (those were professionally printed and widely distributed, not one single sign that was hastily scribbled onto poster board).

"Nancy Pelosi: You can Keep the Fascism."

Obama waving to terrorists and saying, "Whoa boys, I'll take it from here."

    "Impeach the Muslim Marxist."

    "Oust the Marxist Usurper."

A picture of the White House with the address, "1600 Marxist Way."

    "We Came Unarmed...This Time."

"You Can't Fix Stupid, But You Can Vote It Out."

A picture of Obama, then the words, "The Greatest Communist President We've Ever Had."

    "Save Freedom, Stop Obama."

A picture of the Twin Towers burning and the words, "Stop Sinning, or Something Worse Will Happen."

Many pictures of Obama with the Hitler moustache.

"Jesus is the Messiah, Not Obama."

Are you sure you want to defend the protesters while complaining about mawnck's line?

Now, here's a program that is a HUGE waster of dollars. Much of it to stop people from using pot. I suspect that you are anti-pot and therefore, that program is somehow not a failure using your subjective yardstick of success.

Also, not a peep about Iraq, where an ocean of cash has been spent.

I defend their right to protest just like the Dems did during Bush's Whitehouse-and there was plenty of ugly signs then too.

But-this is a place (LP) where there are community standards and the word "Honky" was used in the same way that the "N" word is used. It is an offensive word.

1980 called and it wants Ronald Reagan's government-bashing back.

Other countries with government-run healthcare are able to control their costs better than our private healthcare. Government is not the enemy.

BTW, the Iraq War cost much, much more than was necessary. Know why? Because the Pentagon paid billions of dollars to private contractors for things the military used to do for itself, like security and laundry and water purification. Oh, and the contracts have done a lousy job at it.

War is all about profiteering these days, nothing patriotic about it....

Cop-out. This program cost more than it should because the government paid private contractors instead of doing it themselves. Under a Republican administration.

Had the government just done it, it wouldn't have cost nearly as much. Therefore, your assertion that anytime government does anything, it costs too much, is false.
