I got up at 4 am and got ready for the drive to the airport. Got to the airport by 6 AM and onto the terminal by 7 AM. My flight left Atlanta at 8:30 AM and landed in Boston by 10:30 AM. Caught the bus for Providence at 11:30 AM. Got into Providence by 1 PM. My parents picked us up at the bus terminal. We went to this local resturant chain called Chello's. My Mom ordered Canadian meat pie. My other half ordered a Ruben. I noticed that there were no Monti Cristos on the menu I swear those sandwiches are strickly a Californian thing. My dad and I both ordered seafood chowder and a dozen clam cakes. Everything was incredible. We saved some clam clakes for my brother who had flown up from Fredricksburg, VA also staying with my parents. We returned to my parents home. I decided I wanted some dessert and since all my Mom had was ice cream is was time to hit the local Italian bakery! I got two slices of lemon cake, several pieces of Russian cake soaked in rum, some canolis, chocolate creme cake and a small fruit torte. I will definately get pictures for everyone to see! We basicially sat around and talked about things till it was 5 PM then got ready for my sister and her husband's surprise 25th Wedding Anniversary. My Mom had gotten out some old pictures of the Wedding as well as some candles and flowers from the original wedding. We all met up at the resturant. I would say that were about 60 of us from my sisters family as well as her husbands family. My sister, husband and children were all shocked! They had no idea about this party. All my relatives are excited that I will be here for the next week. We had so much fun. The food was incredible. We were all taking pictures. All of my brothers and sisters were present except for one sister who lives in Walton, Kentucky ( she had to attend a Girl Scout camp out with my neice this weekend back in Kentucky. I brought a few gifts home to give to my family. One brother and his wife had asked me to get them a bottle of Disney Champagne while I was at WDW back in January. So I handed him a gift basket of Disney Champagne and two Mickey Chamgagne flutes ( that was a surprise for him ). I haven't seen many of my relatives in a few years so tonight was great!
I have already been told that tomorrow is going to be party day #2. So more fun tomorrow ( which is typical for my family, our partys go on for days ).

Thelma I got you a sky mall catolog as they also had the prelit palm trees in them. I'm just not sure if they are multi colored or not. Talk more with ya'll later!

PS: Me and the otherhalf have already tried out the quest room bed that my parents had fixed. Hopefully it will not colapse again like it did last trip.

My father in law was rushed to the hospital last night so he and my mil can't make the party tomorrow. See why Tom the circumstances here are getting deeper and deeper, but unless the worst happens we are having the big party tomorrow at the Ridge.

Joe sorry to hear about you father-in-law. Don't sweat it, I'm having a ball here. I'm already scotting out home improvement projects to do around my parents home. All my brothers and sisters ( there are nine of us, are married and have children ) are so happy that I will be up here for a week. My other half will be flying back to Atlanta monday and then driving up to Richmond, VA to scoop his Mom and bring her down to Georgia for the summer ( she's going to be staying at the mountain house in NC ). The original plan was for me to take the Acela down to Washington DC and then Amtrack down to Richmond, VA. But two weeks ago I got an invite to my neice Salem's 4th birthday sunday the 28th. So I told my other half that I have never been to one of my nephews or neices birthdays in 10 years ( I have 23 nephews and neices ) so I'm going! My sister is SO excited. So isn't everyone else. I even brought my passport incase I make a quick dash up to Canada while I am here <smile>.

One said thing that happened last night was that one of my aunts was crying after the party. She is the mother of my first cousin who died in that Great White concert. She has other children who were also at the party who are married, have children and are doing well. My mom said it was because my parents children are all doing well and we haven't had any major tragedys ( which isn't true ). I'm going to have to give my aunt that one. I can't imagine having a child die so suddenly and in such a tragic way.

At the begining of May my neighbors asked if they could put up a string between the surveyor markers which plot out the boundry between the two propertys. We said ok. So they went ahead and did it. They have angered me SOOOOO much. I convinced the other half to take out just about every tree in our backyard. We got a tree removal service and they came in and for two days cut down huge trees. The backyard looks like a lumber yard. Well the neighbors went beserk. And got out there and moved the stakes and string while yelling at the tree removal guys. It got so bad that the tree removal guys called in one of their managers who told my neighbors to leave his men alone and that if there was any question about property lines to take it up with me. When I got home from work I went into my backyard to find my neighbor and his son disecting my backyard and saying that it was his property. He swore at me and said that I was going to have to pay for every tree I cut down. ( So the cat is out of the bag, my neighbors are looking to sue anyone for quick cash ). I told them that I have complete confidence in my surveyor. This all happened last Wednesday. The neighbor was so disruptive with the tree removal guys that the tree removal guys flipped a log loading truck in my backyard and the guy driving the vechicle hurt his back. I can tolerate a lot of crap from my neighbor but when someone gets hurt that is crossing the line.
Anyway, last thursday my neighbor hired his own surveyor and his surveyor confirmed the same boundries that my surveyor gave.

So the neighbor and his wife came over and appologized. And his wife immediately asked me "so how soon are you going to put a fence in".

I felt like saying that if you stay away from my tree people then it would go a lot faster. We had to put off stump grinding till after we return from vacation.

Several of my other neighbors during this past week have come over to ask me what all the commotion has been ( meaning with the crazy neighbors ). I told them. I was about the last holdout in the cul de sac that was friendly with the crazy ones. Now they are all aware that the crazy ones are looking to sue anyone of us.

We are both reconsidering following through with all our plans on the backyard. My other half wants to put in a tennis court and have blaring lights day and night back there now. I still plan on planting trees and putting in turf. We are still moving along but the crazy neighbors have sure taken a lot of wind out of our sails.
