Well, he was the producer, but the person generally regarded as being at the helm is the director.

It was an old movie it had John Lafeete fighting on the side of America During the War of 1812. Its black and white. A pirate that fought for america alongside Davy Crocketts old friends Andrew Jackson at the battle of New orleans. The loading area in the ride is even named Laffeties landing. This would be a perfect film thats ripe for a remake. Will the whole Zombie thing fly again? I dont think so. It lost its wow factor. They were also the only reason Bruckheimer decideed to get involved.

i think that there are 2 kinds of sequels.
    1) a movie's a hit so they quickly throw together a rehash of it that's virtually the same movie.
    2) regardless of the film's success, the same group of film-makes who put it together go to work on a second one and aim for an advancement of the story and a quality piece.

i think pirates 2 will fall into the second category and be a huge hit come 2003ish.
