I guess that means EPCOT is better with WoL closed and the second level of Imagination roped off.

And anyone who thinks Hyperion Wharf is going to actually gain anything in the years ahead also believes that Flamingo Crossings is going to see development and that Disney didn't jump GF DVC to the front of the line because it was easier to build there than on the FW or Poly sites and would command the highest prices of any WDW DVC yet.

Good grief, no one here is saying any such nonsense.

So, why is it hard to make the leap to the conclusion that there is likely a good reason for doing this? They either have issues with crowds, a bad economy to be building retail/entertainment, a longer term plan that they aren't ready to kick off yet, or something else.

If they felt they could make a buck off the property today or in the next 12 months by building a club/restaurant/attraction....they would do it.

My guess is, like every other business, they have a 5, 10, 20 year strategic plan for WDW and even specifically for Downtown Disney and the timing isn't right to take the next step yet.

When they built the much maligned Pooh Playground I knew it wasn't permanent. It was "filler" until the Fantasyland Expansion got under way. I think the "grassy knolls" are just that.

Because complaining and kvetching about every single thing the company does is more fun?

I would like to believe this, but events of the last 5-10 years make me doubtful. It seems more a case that they lurch from one idea to another, more in reaction to a current situation than in anticipation of the future.

No argument that they have plans, and certainly plans "now." The issue I have is if there really is effective long-term strategizing in the halls of TDO. And this is not really a criticism as much as an observation.
