I agreed with your reasoning UNTIL you got to preferring to stay at an All-Stars motel for $80 rather than the free Disney resort off property. You say "location location location", but the All-Star location sucks. It's not near any of the parks, and assuming you rely on busses (do you?), the trouble of getting to the parks can be far more time consuming and annoying (not to mention getting back at night) than if you took that $80 and got yourself a nice Cadillac for your stay. PLUS, you'd likely be in the parks quicker AND you get to stay in an immersive Disney hotel to boot. Just off property. So, is it JUST the fact you might have to spend 5-10 minutes on a "non-Disney" road that makes all the difference to you?

I don't need those perks (spa etc.) when I'm at WDW.<< Yes, but the question is what if it were a DISNEY resort, and an incredible one, located somewhere around 15 miles away.

A) The aforementioned off property 6-star Disney Mega resort, recently voted best hotel on the planet by all industry experts, also happens to boast a unique and never before seen Disney ATTRACTION, available only to hotel guests. Would ya still skip it, even if free, in favor of the All-Stars? B) Due to an odd series of property lawsuits or something (think Swan Dolphin on steroids), ALL of the current Disney resorts, from All Stars to the Grand, are forced to relocate to something like 15-20 miles "off property". Everything but the hotels remains exactly the same. The space formally occupied by all the Disney hotels is turned into Motel 6's, thousands and thousands of non-Disney motel 6's. So, for a and b, what would it be? Still gotta have that location thing?
