A couple of things I noticed. The DLP version does seem to be shorter than ours and in thier version you seem to go from one section to another without entering a seperate room like in ours. I loved the western and Canadian sections. One thing I never liked on our version is the small room you go through after the finale. I know space is limited in there but I have never liked the current postcards they use. For some reason they don't match the style of the rest of the ride. Hopefully they will change that out.

It seemed like I could practically see the empty hooks and wires where the holiday stuff hangs. I will always love the ride but I hope the refurb adds some depth to the regular version so that it doesn't seem so sparse.

On the other side of the coin, when Disney has been able to update the attractions and still retain the original flavor I'm a very happy camper. I love the updates the have been done to HM, JC, POTC, and TSI (didn't exactly keep the original flavor on that one) and if the refurbished SW is anything like the Paris IASW video, I don't think I will have any complaints. >>One thing I never liked on our version is the small room you go through after the finale.<< dlpostcardguy, I hear you, it almost feels like a bit of a let-down where you would hope for a stronger finish. I've always thought is would have been cute to see something similar to the parade of dolls that come out of the clock there. I'm sure space considerations limited many options.

It's tough to put much in there because it is directly under the train tracks, but the first room has more space to the side, behind where the tracks are. I don't know if the end room has that space available to work with, but if they could add that, it would make a ton of new possiblities. If they could put something a little more dimensional than postcards and Christmas letters with a few small moving parts, I think it would make a more fitting end to the ride. Another thing I noticed on my last trip is that the ceiling (especially in the final room) looks absolutely terrible. I honestly don't mind the drop ceiling, but the finale room and rainforest room both had a ton of panels that had holes in them, and I could see all the way through to the real roof. The fact that they left the service lights on up there didn't help any. I don't really think they look that bad in general, but they were allowed to get to a pretty bad state. Just replacing the broken tiles and painting them all a consistant shade would help direct the attention back down to the sets. Some clouds to conceal the lights might be nice, but really aren't needed if the ceiling is done well.

The holiday version is always so beautiful and I'm sure it will continue to be so, but I hope the new and improved day to day version will be worth the wait.

For the same reasons I love Tiki Room...clacking beaks and all. IASW was probably my favorite attraction to work as a cast member. That area of the park felt relaxed, there against the back of the park, and the ride was a peaceful attraction to work as well. I never worked the West Side, though I do love New Orleans Square and find it a great area to hang out too. Very relaxing and charming, especially on the lesser crowded days. IASW is classic Disney though...and a very special attraction.
