I've already gotten my first lead on a job! They've seen my resume and have asked me to come in to fill out an application. It's for a local television station (CBS) production assistant. Yes, I would have to work weekends and holidays, but my husband already does that so it wouldn't be that big of a deal. PetCo is also hiring several people and anyone who knows me knows I love animals! It'll be pretty easy for me to find a job in retail, but I would rather do a different type of job.

I also realized this morning that my mental well-being is so much more important than money. There was so much harrassment (many different types!) at that place and so much gossip! I feel so much better and realize that I did the right thing. Maybe I shouldn't have done it the way I did, but I can't take it back.

I'm also extremely thankful for my wonderful husband who is backing me up completely! (I love you!)

    Don't look back.

You did what you did, and it worked out essentially how you wanted it to work out. Who gives a flip what those people at your old workplace think.

As I left the locker area, I saw the evening manager (who, btw, is only 22 but has known my former boss for about 10 years). I sort of jokingly said "I CAN be here can't I?" Her response was "No. I'm going to have to ask you to leave." Wow! Now I'm being treated like a common criminal!

I had been the personal assistant to the president of the company. I was fed up with him and left. Being privy to his work ethic, I knew his methods and didn't trust him not to add stuff to my file after I was gone.

He was later let go, and the head of HR called and asked if I would come back. Um, no! LOL

Jazz, the way you left is classified as 'hostile', so that's why they don't want you on property. It's an HR thing.

There were occasional times when, finding we hadn't followed policy, I told HR to contact the person and offer reinstatement,

An update~I called today and spoke with my former supervisor. I apologized for the way I handled things and how upset I was at myself for letting my anger get in the way of my professionalism. She forgave me and said that she would tell my former boss that I was sorry also. I don't feel as if I can talk to him right now or I would apologize personally. She forgave me by the way.
