I've noticed that the entire discussion board is much slower than it ever used to be...I have a feeling quite a few posters have "migrated" to other boards...

One can say the same things over and over only so many times before tempers flare. Then we have the thread hijackers. Over in the "Liberals booted" thread, a poster just HAD to throw a dig in about gay marriage, so I predict by the end of the day we'll have yet again another back-and-forth on gay marriage where nothing new is said by anyone.

Most of the time when a topic is closed it is because it has gone so far off topic and has disintegrated into name calling. You are more than welcome to start another topic on that subject. The past two weeks have shown the return of much name calling and personal attacks. We have made it clear that we will not tolerate the personal attacks. My advice, if you don't want a topic closed then stay on topic and keep things civil.

They get "Libs are socialists whose beliefs make it impossible for them to be good Christians and whose lack of ideas is the reason they always lose elections and are really good for nothing other than working at Starbucks". When you hear that crap no matter WHAT the discussion is, you start to get a little tired of it. That is why I haven't posted much in WE lately. Why bother?

The owners of the site can limit whatever they want. But Im surprised they let alot of the name calling and bad mouthing and insults go as long as they do. I suggest that if your not happy here Beau and others, why not simply move on?

This is a Disney fan site at its core and in that it is going to generate people of all ages. It is almost a fiduciary duty of this site to see that all those people who might come to this site feel safe. Sorry but that is not free speech but that is the way it has got to be and if it ceases to be I know I for one will be out.

If you want that kind of argument, take it to WE!" For that reason alone, I think WE serves a useful purpose on LP. So anyway, I discovered WE, and found I really enjoyed it at its best. Strangely enough, I liked it better for political discussions than websites I'd found that were overtly political, as most of them seemed to be either heavily conservative with a few token liberals, or vice versa. Which gets old fast. WE has plenty of both, plus (gasp!) some real moderates, who were in short supply on the other sites. At its worst, though, it can get tiring for anyone, and I would say that its worst is exactly as RoadTrip described; when posters stop addressing the matter at hand and just go on with a rant about libs or cons in general. And/or get nasty and violate community standards. But at its best I like WE a lot.
