As a color tech I get hair color on my clothes alot, soon as I do, I reach for a can of hair spray and spray it on the spot, knowing that when I wash the clothes the water, laundry soap and hair spray will take the color spot right out.
Hair spray also works well on other pre-existing stains too......

I HATE putting hair Spray on my clients hair and usually will NOT!!! If I must I politely tell them that they are taking away their color....

Do you think washing with oxyclean would fix this too? I can't wash em separately as it is all one shirt. I thank you in advance for your great wisdom in this matter :)

There is a product you can put into the wash that will absorb the darker colors bleeding and not get into the whites. I'm going to research here and find out the name. There are two out, one is simply a cloth, similiar to a wash cloth, that you just put in with the rest of the clothes. They work really well.

As for your problem now, you might take some Oxyiclean following directions and mix up a little batch and maybe with a soft brush like a toothbrush gently clean your collar, cuffs, and shirttail.

The product I am referring to is called "dyeMagnet". It is a super product. You just drop it in the laundry and add your detergent. It absorbs the excess dye.

Thank you so much for the tip on hairspray, Sra Quincita! I keep a bottle in the laundry because of the magic it works on ink stains, but I didn't know it was so effective on other tough problems, too.
