I certainly know the spiel by heart, but have never recited it out loud. It never occured to me.

I try to remember that somewhere in the stretch room, there is one person who has never seen 'The Haunted Mansion.' I try to let their experience be a good one.

It would be like watching a movie with someone that you've seen before, and they haven't and every other scene saying 'Oh, this part is funny.'

It used to be that the chatter generally started in the stretching room, but as soon as the elevator started its descent, everything stopped. Now, all you hear are people yammering away. Loudly.

Call me iconoclastic, but the problem may stem from a total lack of theatre etiquette simply because many of these folks have never attended live theatre. Just check out the Alladin show across the way.

BTW, did they clean up the skulls coming out of the pipe organ? It had gotten to the point where you couldn't tell what the heck they were.

    I think you're right.

Heck, add movies to that list. People who talk-talk-talk through movie previews -- and then if the movie begins with music and just credits -- they keep talking right up until the first line of dialogue is spoken.

It's my #1 reason that I don't go to movies at the theater much anymore.

The bride in the attic seems to be the same to me, just cleaned up and much brighter, there seems to be alot of luggage around her that was not there originally, i got the feeling that they were trying to hide something with all the luggage, maybe new effects not working yet? also in the madame leota scene the green light is gone, its just gone, its just a big dark spot that possibly a new effect will go into, not yet turned on? well i can dream can't i?

Yes Jim, we call it the VTS: Video Tape Syndrome. People and their kids are so used to seeing videos/DVD's at home that they have forgotten all about courtesy and the others in the theater around them. They just keep talking away until you turn around and tell them to be quiet. The little ones I can forgive a few times but the adults who do this are complete morons IMO and need to leave the theater.

So, how can Disneyland address the problem? IMO, they can't. Sad.

A single change I noted in the queue area is the massive spider web. Previously, it was a single large web, through which the Doom Buggies entered. There are now a series of webs stretching across the room on the right hand side.

    That's it.

The sound system is clearer, some areas are slightly darker, and some slightly brighter. All animation appears to be working, including some figures that had become erratic in recent years. In the attic, the piano player's shadow is visible, but I did not hear the Wedding March. The Bride was not swaying as much as before, but her arm (holding a candle (as always), not a bouquet, was slowly moving.

    There were no:
    -- projected spirits
-- enhancements in Leota's seance room
    -- paintings/portraits with projections
    -- attic treasure
    -- axes, bloodied or unbloodied
    -- animated Hitchhikers.

    OK?

I totally disagree. I never went to live theater as a child, but I knew it was rude to talk aloud during the presentation. It's simply a lack of manners.

    A single change I noted . . .<

I just wanted to point out that the above collision of statements made me giggle . . .

When you have a bunch of guests repeating the script at the same time, none of them are n'sync. All it does is not allow the vistor to hear the Disney presentation and I honestly feel the ride loses much of the Disney feeling when guests do this..loudly repeat the script then laugh afterwords. My son has not once heard the actual Disney version of the streching room dialog!

It makes little kids cry when they hear a man holler like that.

I kick him for it. It doesn't keep him from doing it again in the hall of doors, however. *LOL*
