The tag is funny, but more cute than hysterical. With the lenght of the credits (you literally can leave, go to the bathroom, and come back, and they will still have plenty of time left), it isn't really worth the wait when you can just fast foreward it at home.

To me there were ALOT of cliff hangers to wrap up in the next film so to me it really doesnt stand alone but as part 1 of a 2 part show...

    It's spoiler free.

Although I didn't love it, it is still worth watching and I hope to enjoy the third one more.

But overall I hated this film. It is, in my opinion, sadistic, hard to follow, and totally devoid of the charm of the first. Not to mention that it doesn't have an ending.

I am really happy that u k fan and others enjoyed the movie so much. But I think it's only fair to say that your mileage may vary.

It isn't all bad. There are some good individual set pieces, which would be more enjoyable if you hadn't sat through the two hours that preceded them. "But why is the fun gone?" (to paraphrase a very wise pirate). The lead characters aren't likeable anymore, the baddies aren't entertaining, the fight scenes are too long, too similar, and too numerous, and trying to keep up with the convoluted storyline(s) is very tiresome. In fact, comparing this to the first Pirates is VERY much like comparing The Phantom Menace to the original Star Wars. The key ingredients they somehow misplaced seem to be the same ones.

If you feel you still must see it, you can wait for the DVD . . . a strange thing to say for a big-budget blockbuster, but there you go. The special effects stuff just doesn't have that "cinematic" quality that the first movie had in such abundance, and should work just as well on a smaller screen.

One other comment . . . remember how upset everybody was that the violent and scary PG-13 COTBP was released under the Disney name? And it was pointed out that it was really more fun-scary, kind of like the stuff in the ride at the park, and thus it was OK?

Now at last I see why it wasn't OK. This one was not fun-scary. It was your typical violent big-studio big-budget blockbuster movie. This one should never have been a Disney picture, but being a sequel to the other one, nobody has made the connection. Sigh.

Short scene at the end was cute, but certainly not worth sitting through the 5-hour credit roll--just one more waste of time in this way-too-long movie.

now I loved the movie. I thought it was easy to understand. I love the humor and they story plot. I just wish the third one will come out tomorrow to end the cliffhanger!!!! GRRRR, I've seen the movie three times and with the clues (or what i think are clues) It does not make it easier. There is so many ways the Pirates can end! But who am I to spoil it?
