Eh. I disagree. I don't think it's any more out of place in the Tiki Room in Adventureland than it is currently in Tomorrowland.

And the end result would be a better show if the AA was repurposed, I'm for it.

And I can see the tie between Stitch and the Tiki Room fine, personally.

    "IF", not "and".

This not being able to edit thing sucks.

How's that? Aliens and Sci Fi fit TL... in Adventureland, the land is more focused on colonialism, clashes with it, and the existing, antiquated indigenous culture. The tiki room is the latter... It's the magic in that.

So... How does Stitch fit that?

They're different animals. While I don't think that's a good reason for not doing things like seasonal overlays, it is here.

Old things brought back just aren't goin to get WDW's guests excited. It's the reason EO's merch barely sells here and it flies off the shelves in DL.

So... How does Stitch fit that?>>

It would go back to the age old argument of what Tomorrowland is. Is it supposed to be Sci-Fi, or is it supposed to be about TOMORROW? I'd admit that SGE fits into a Sci-Fi vision... I just don't think the land should be about Sci-Fi. I think it's supposed to be about Tomorrow.

And like I said, Stitch can fit into the Tiki room over there by making it about Hawaii, and his love of Elvis, and the Hawaiian feel. Don't make it about his being an alien. Make it about Ohana, and the land he lives in and music he loves.

It's really not that far a stretch.

I didn't like what little I saw of it.

Sounds like something that would've been devised during the early MGM-Studios phase.

And, yes, it sounds quite horrible.

I don't see where the notion that EO is doing poorly is regarded as fact. It's playing to decent crowds, the new plush (lol) have sold out twice already. The merch car had quite a few customers during the half hour I took on a nice FW West Bench.

MSEP was brought back and played to two packed shows all summer.

I see no reason that would keep crowds away from a refreshed and "retro" Tiki Room.

Tomorrowland hasn't actively been about real Futurism since 1994. And it certainly isn't in 2011! That's EPCOT's job now. (And it doesn't do it well in most places...)

And for Stitch... almost none of those things fit into the story and theme of Adventureland. It's a land in the past, it's based in colonialism and the indigenous cultures and myths of the natives. Modern music, like Elvis, doesn't exist. And it has everything to do with him being an alien. He's a main character dropped into a setting and time that don't fit him.

How would you feel if Stitch loved Jazz and was dropped into New Orleans Square in Disneyland? Or Stitch playing a fife and drum in a regiment of regulars in Liberty Square? His character doesn't match the setting or idea that drives the theme of the area.

You know though with technology like I said many years ago, with shows like this couldn't they utilize multiple scripts (even without RF), say rotate the opening song, etc.

In 1988, I was standing in front of a shelf at the store in the Disneyland Hotel debating between the Hooter that was on sale, but would be all of my vacation money, and the Dumbo that would leave me with a little something to buy a T-shirt. I choose the Dumbo, but I have wanted a Hooter ever since.
