i also say Disney World in a lot of ways has alot more to do and definately more of a resort. however comparing just magic kingdoms, disneyland beats WDW.
Disneyland has alot more little attractions that the magic kingdom in Florida. Storybook, Casey, Alice, Mr Toad, Roger Rabbit, the Columbia, the Canoes, Mr Lincoln/Disneyland Story, New Orleans Square.
plus the florida magic kingdom is missing two big e tickets the Matterhorn and indy.
the attractions they share disneyland usually wins. Pirates is much longer and more elaborate at disneyland. space mountain is a far better experience then the one at WDW. Small World is not as magical without its facade greeting you.
yes overall you get more bang for your buck at WDW, but for the best magic kingdom experience, Disneyland the original magic kingdom is still the best. I have never been to the overseas parks, so i can't compare those.

I haven't been to HKDL, but of the rest, I'd have to put TDL at the bottom, from a architectural and layout standpoint. Tokyo's tradition of excellence in show and service are phenomenal, but the park itself is a bit bizarre.

I think I would regard it just as high on a different level actually. I think I'd just be blown away If I walked into Disneyland without having been before. Having been so many times, I'm still blown away, but it's more like home cause I've always gone back and back.

The weather in SoCal really is spectacular. Superior to Orlando in my opinion because of the horrific heat they have in the summer months. BUT all other seasons are very nice to compensate.

That was the reaction of my east coast and Euro friends. They were visiting for the first time in their 30's and 40's and had no nostalgia for it; yet were thoroughly impressed.
