With "Vertigo" there was just so much "dead time" for me...silent following around and no action, or talking with your female friend and most of it just being bland. Even Bernard Hermann's score couldn't keep my interest sustained higher, whereas his music for "Psycho" is utterly brilliant and perfect for the moods there. And hey, I don't mind a "sound-stagey" feeling or a film set only in 1 room/setting for 90 minutes...heck, that's what "Lifeboat" and "Rope" are all about, and I loved those---it forces the film to bring out character depth, interaction, and great dialogue which enriches the layers between the characters. I'm so sorry I've confused you, 2oony...but then again, from what friendofdd tells me, that's really one of the easiest things a person can do. ;-)
