And I too remember some buzz from about a year ago that the little water sprite character from F2K's 'Firebird' sequence was going to serve as a kind of host for the show. I haven't heard anything about that since, so maybe she never made it past the first draft.

I'm not sure I understand the complaints about the show being too long. Sometimes I wish Fantasmic was longer.. it just seems to go by really quickly at 23 minutes. Fantasmic at DHS is a bit longer, clocking in at 26 minutes I think.

World of Color will have a better repeatability factor than Fantasmic or any other nighttime show. The end-tag is expected to change periodically (encores after the show). Steven Davison has also made it clear that they will eventually swap out segments of the show to include new scenes/add in new movies.

Add to that the Christmas/Halloween themed World of Color shows (which the show director confirmed were being added in the future.) Whether or not they will actually materialize, who knows - but it's definitely in the works.

WOC may not be the end all end all for some people, but at the very least it will be a decent show and a nice way to close the day at DCA. I wouldn't expect any more than that.

Can't it just be it's own show, unlike anything else the resort has or has had in the past?

It's good it's different that Fantasmic, no?

    Of course I'm being sarcastic.

Can you imagine how these online discussions would have gone back when Fantasmic was being launched? No marketing hype taht Disney conjures up for WOC could ever match the breathless anticipation and anxiety underlying the discussions about the show on these boards.

Am I excited for WOC? Of course, I'm very excitable.

Will my life come crashing down around me if it isn't the best thing I've ever seen?

    Naaaaaa.

This seems to be one of those shows that can be modified fairly easily. Lets give the 25 minute show a chance for a few months and go from there.
