Funny thing is, if they could have waethered the storm for a while....they might be OK today as today, with many many companies moving out of Downtown Chicago, the space is all being replaced by residential high ( really high) rises -- and lots of families -- all with huge $$ -- it might just be doing very well right now-- but they bailed. I still remember opening night - it was very cool -- with Melissa Joan Hart

I know at one time they were considering building DQ’s in other cities (Philadelphia, NY, etc.)

Either would have worked. they tried to tap into the Michigan Avenue crowd -- at at Christmas time for shopping that was probably not a bad idea -- but the majority of time, most of the shoppers on Michigan Ave. just not the DQ type -- to Hoi Poloi - etc......( their loss) -- the size of the building was huge -- and 7 floors high -- and had a Cheesecake Factory on top floor -- it was fun.....but to much of a pita to go visit for only that reason due to locatio / traffic / cost --

I, personally, think DQ and most of Regional Entertainment concepts were a waste of Disney's time and resources. They just threw a lot out there (from fast food restaurants to Club Disney to DQ). I guess all they have now is ESPN Zone, which actually is a great concept, although they haven't built a new one in years.
