Oh, and wasn't there another Old Chicago Pizza on the East side of Petaluma, over by a grocery store and Deaf Dog Coffee (which may not be there anymore). I remeber the bumper stickers at Deaf Dog -- "Friends Don't Let Friends Go To Starbucks." Ahhhh, Petaluma, the smell of fertilizer in the spring. My most favorite place to live. Now I'm "homesick" (I only lived there for 2 years, hee-hee)!!!

And for sites, our entire downtown is a photographer's dream and just a really cool place to walk around and shop. We were once the "Egg Capital of the World," lol!! We'll bring AmazednCal with us! Yep, I'm from Petaluma too (although I grew up in Marin County) - home to many LPers, past and present!

I know it's not that far, but we used to drive up 101 for about 1 1/2 hours to the redwoods, now that would be 2 1/2 hours. Or we would hop on over to the beach, a farther trip now. Or we'd go down to China Camp or up to Anadelle to mountain bike. Never get to do that anymore . Plus, I love to hike and Marin and Sonoma Counties have much better hiking than here.

They do love to come back home though. Old Chicago is one place high on the request list. When my DD went to Sonoma State (she actually lived in the dorms a full 12 minutes away) she reported that there they referred to the "scent" as "Sonoma Aroma." My sister who lives on a former dairy refers to it as "Dairy Aire" My brother in law is one of the spreaders of the lovely scent in October I'll check out the Old Chicago hours. The take out, delivery part is on the East side of town. Next to a Starbucks and a former Baskin Robbins. Here is another tid bit. When I was in elementary school, the DeSchmire building used to be a little neighborhood grocery store called Glenns. The kind of place that had milk and bread and candy. DH and I both used to stop there after school and buy penny candy Yes! amazedncal will tag along with any visitors and talk about the olden days

It's not fancy but it's my favorite! Then we'd head downtown to Fremont Street for the light show and people watching. You'd be in Vegas!
