No. We criminalize them by having ridiculous laws that do not reflect reality. When people ignore a law literally by the millions, it's the law that is in error, not the people.

All these problems would disappear if we didn't seem to require a slave class of workers made up of illegal immigrants.

If they received a work visa, and were able to participate in our country as legal residents, none of these problems would be happening.

Pass all the draconian laws you want to. It will not change the situation.

There seems to be a mania in this country to pass laws against things that can't be changed by a law. They don't work. We have so many laws on the books, everyone basically becomes a criminal in one manner or another.

In this case, we have absolutely ridiculous laws that are uneforceable, do not work, and are causing a lot of problems in society.

The laws need to change. They aren't working.

I am all for work visas-BUT-those are visiting work visas and the rights that come with those are limited. Just because you have received a right to work does not mean you also receive a right to free education, free health care and services, etc.

I don't read a lot of detail in your statements here-don't know where you are going with them.

But at least there would be some. They would not have to hide, would not have to be victims, and would treated like they are human beings, which they are.

There are quotas for the amount of people coming into this country. If you don't meet the quota, you can't come in. So if you can't come in, and you want or need to, you get illegal immigration.

Where I'm going with this is that our laws don't work. They are violated not only by the millions of illegal aliens, but the millions more of Americans who look the other way. It's not just businesses that hire these people. Regular folks go out and hire "day laborers" to do stuff for them.

Immigration laws are basically ignored by everyone. They don't work, they don't reflect what our society is engaging in, and do not help the situation.

Oh, I don't think I was exaggerating. By all caps I meant your use of all capitals in spelling out entire words. And I omitted your use of exclamation points, as I didn't want to pile on. The fact you continue to pursue this only serves to illustrate I did get it right.

You do see the irony here, right? Is LOL a real word, partial word or an entire word? And then there's the exclamation point......

There's something that can be safely assumed about Darkbeer's motivation for posting when one looks at the body of the threads he creates. "Black people do bad things in New Orleans." "Gay men do bad things to firefighters in San Diego." "Mexicans steal at QualCom."

Ummmm... We don't see equally outraged posts from him about white-collar crime, or about pedophilia by white perpetrators, or about, well, any other news-worthy crimes commited by "majority"-type persons.

By his incredible selectiveness in drawing attention to wrong-doing, Darkbeer is advancing a very specific agenda on LP.

In my town, the truth is...

We used to have a McDonald's and a Burger King and a Wendy's and and Olga's downtown. Great choices for a quick lunch!

But they disappeared years ago. For lack of business? Hell, no. They went under because they couldn't get staff.

You can be pissed off about Mexicans "stealing" the jobs of US citizens. I'm pissed off that our system doesn't allow for workers to be paid a decent wage while the consumer gets the low price he demands.

"Americans," you can't have it both ways. Either you pay a bit more for your burger, or you tacitly allow a Mexican to be paid slave labor to cook it for you.

Just because someone is undocumented, an illegal worker or a refugee or whatever, doesn't mean they have no rights.

There are international laws and standards that must be abided by.

You make it sound like they're vermin to be exterminated for pete's sake!
