What we're saying is that all illegals are looters, not that all looters are illegal. Get these things straight. "And I bet that the majority of them, if not all of them, came here LEGALLY!" Probably before we introduced unworkable and useless immigration laws that do more harm than good.

Originally Posted By jonvn "So what criteria, if it was up to you, would you consider important?" You need to recognize reality. We are breeding criminal behavior by criminalizing a group of people If someone wants to come here to work, and they are not criminals, let them. Give them a visa, give them a place in society. They will then have a stake in the area they live in, and be treated like human beings in their work environment. A fence is not only not going to work, it's one of the stupidest things I've ever heard of. Not only does the fence not even cover the entire border with mexico, it can be climbed over or dug under in a matter of minutes. Do you think these people are stupid? Oh, let's put up pieces of a fence, that will do it....well, no it won't, and no, you're not going to stop illegal immigration by making empty and stupidly useless gestures.

Beyond that, I had to jump through a bunch of hoops, pay a lot of fees (not near as much as America though), and wait about five years to become permanant which the immigration people told me was surprisingly fast.

I'm not bowing out of the thread. I'll wait around at least until I get an answer as to how I can order a $4.89 Big Mac meal without the presence of illegal aliens in my area.

I really don't see the corrolation in the price of goods myself. A big mac meal in Tokyo is comparably priced to one in New York City, but I've not seen a whole lot of illegal workers there.
