It took me a long long time to read quite a few posters posts in other sections after the Katrina threads several years ago. I had a very difficult time seperating the vicious, bigoted stuff I was reading in WE from them and then trying to still take the person(s) and their personalities in all things Disney. I could not do it. So I just gave it a rest for awhile. LP can be a wonderful community for support and encouragement. It can also be a therapists worse nightmare in regards to the blinding enabling and denial that goes on. Life isn't all rainbows, butterflies and Mickey Mouse. It's messy and serious some times. I know people come here for escapism and that's fine. But if you're going to participate in WE keep your opinons and hurt feelings in there. Why take it to Community and PlayPen IF you don't share those type of views in there. It's looking for fake sympathy because you could not backup, express or uphold your thoughts and viewpoints in WE. And what really gets me is the repeat crybabies. This is the first time KT has cried I'm going to leave, my feelings are hurt. It this continues to happen maybe you need to reevaluate your thought process, opinions or why you keep coming back for more in WE. You cannot keep dropping bombs and then running. That's not a discussion. Ugh, this is partly why I'm not on LP much, there's just too much whining and crying all the time.

That's life of a discussion board. I think what's missing for a lot of people is the understanding that before you hit click you better be damn sure its what you want to say, you've written it the best you can and your fully prepared to back what you are expressing. As I 100% guarantee you the fact that NOT everyone is going to understand you, like what you say or even read it. So stop getting your panties in a bunch. Just move on. ;>

My situation was years ago and I didn't actually see any of the flaming I got, but I heard about it from others. I still don't know what was said. It never crossed my mind to leave, I think my biggest reaction to the whole thing was a big old eyeroll. I kind of thought is was funny that a playpen thread could cause that strength of feeling. I agree with those that have basically said if you can't stand the heat, get out of the WE kitchen. If you feel strongly enough about a WE topic that you're prepared to back it up then go for it - otherwise your best off staying away!!!
