I was a band geek, too, but I played flute. I had a crush on the drummer, though.

I kept marvelling at the apparent ease with which you both played. It was as if the actual playing were "no big deal" to you. And, clearly, the playing was effortless enough that you were able to be engaging with the audience. VERY nice stage presence!

If this is what you and Zak put together with virtually no notice, I can't wait to see what act the two of you put together with some planning!

    Thanks for sharing, X!

And yes, Inspector, we're in the planning stages of "something real" right now which would take that concept and max it out much further...more groovy, more slick, more fast stuff at the end.

Speaking of THAT, it was a tad annoying because we did actually play a LOT faster at the end when we worked it up, but because of the nature of the show (not a lot of great percussionists) we had to tone it down a lot so as not to upstage the rest of the show.

My Grandfather was a drummer in a jazz band, but I think it skipped a couple generations - I've never heard my Dad play :p It's fun to find the beat or rhythm in a song and play to it using whatevers around you, but playing the real thing I imagine must take a lot of hard work and practice.

I know a lot of discipline and practice is involved in being so good.

    You Tock!
