It's amazing how the spirit of DL stays with you, even after many years.

In Feb '95 we literally ran away from home and left the younger ones in the care of our college aged kids and had one glorious day at DL. It was our first time together there! We opened up the place and closed it down! We had the most romantic, perfect dinner at Blue Bayou by the water that you could imagine; our food and the service was superb. DH's magic moment came before we even made it out of the now no longer existing parking lot: I was passed out in the passenger seat, head back, mouth open. I had become that little girl again...worn out with the Disney magic. He often brings that up as one of the most touching experiences of our 32 years together.

Or just watching kids having fun.

You know how as you're just about to do the big drop, you can get a great view of the park ever so briefly? Well, I was looking right in the direction of the castle, with the Matterhorn right behind, when POOF! a great multi-burst of fireworks lit up the sky, with the castle and Matterhorn receiving their "glow" so beautifully... and then ZOOM, right down the drop. It was one of those things that if you rode Splash a hundred more times during fireworks, you'd never time it THAT perfectly ever again.

The smell of chlorine from the water surrounding the boat fills the dark air. The only thing that can be seen is a skeleton head above a big black opening. The boat creaks, like the rusty hinges on an old door, as it slowly drifts towards the dark drop. Rushing water can be heard from the back of the boat. Ear piercing screams echo through the darkness. The skeleton head aove the opening is saying, "Hold on tight, with both hands if you please, and mark my words, dead men tell no tales." Blackness then grabs the boat and pulls it down the unseen drop." Thanks for letting me share with you all! ~proud disneymama

As we were at the top of the big hill in our log, the Mark Twain boat went by right below us, all lit up, with characters waving. It only lasted for a moment because we were on our way DOWN, but it was amazing!!!!
