Well, there's a difference in inspecting the track and inspecting for safety, versus inspecting the show lights/show scenes, and then actually fixing something.

Yeah, well, you can teach somebody how to inspect an attraction, it isn't rocket science, the folks who actually do the fixing are pretty busy.

    >>Seriously? A single push of a button? Every attraction has a SOP for opening and it is typically through a system boot-up - fully automated. IJA is a fully computerised attraction. The attraction can only open with everything running - Ops has final say on operating an attraction that isn't fully operational.<<

I don't think they even turn-off a lot of the computers for Indy at night, and they don't put the effects on some sort of a timer if that's what you're thinking.

You don't want, or even need, the computer to be in control of the switches for various show scenes, it is just plain common sense, maybe even in the code, that you've got to have a manual switch for these circuits. Of course the cars/tracks are computer controlled.

Anaheim does have some electrical issues, given the huge amount of current that some attractions draw, and do some issues with the power company I think.

Never said, there are mechanical safeties as well, and they can cause a circuit to "trip", in addition to a ground fault/problems with power fluctuations.

Maintenance/inspection related to safety of the ride, and basic operation would be expected to follow increases in profits, not always the case.

At any rate, this thread is about show scene stuff, which we all know can take the back seat at times. It's a world of difference to say a ride gets its pre-show walk through, which focuses on safety, versus talking about the show scene stuff.

Tokyo doesn't seem to have a lot of these sorts of show scene maintenance problems.

Indy ain't that old, just that they space out the maintenance work on the show scenes, resetting stuff by the book often requires a visual inspection of certain mechanical effects that might shutdown a show scene and that the folks doing the start-up aren't often aware of what even needs to be done to properly to fix/startup a section that was tripped. You can run the ride perfectly well with a show scene down.

Cinderella events are coming as far as I know, and Star Wars land is going into Simba.

I would have gotten more on my trip to DL, but a guy from Burbank I was going to talk to was a no-show.

Uhhh...just because there's not much at DL that's newer than Indy doesn't mean it's that old. Indy is only 3 years younger than DLP's Mark Twain, and it's in terrible shape. Indy is just a few years shy of Space Mountain's age when it needed the entire track replaced (~25-26). When you're running these things for 16+ hours a day, 365 days a year, with millions of guests passing through them, they tend to age pretty quickly
