I admit that there are many better movies, but the movie exceeded my low expactations and it turned out to be a nice popcorn movie. I don't know what reviews Prince of Persia got, but that was a pretty bad and boring movie.

Originally Posted By leemac <<John Carter was a totally flat boring who cares movie>> That is precisely how I described it to people. You had absolutely no empathy for any of the characters. I honestly can't ever remember seeing a film with such unforgettable characters and incoherent plot - I had no idea what was happening and why.

I'm sure that's not the message you're going for, but that's what's coming across. My only constructive input here is, once again, to point out that Rotten Tomatoes sucks because of their binary method of assigning the percentage - fresh or rotten, with nothing in between (and MOST movie reviews are in between). That's no way to run a railroad. Metacritic = much better, since they actually assign a numerical percentage to each review. Current rating for Oz, 53 out of 100, based on only 5 reviews (IE not enough to really matter), 4 of which are scored as "mixed".

I thought Alice in Wonderland was a terrible film. I thought John Carter was a good film. Will I like the Oz, hard to say. People have varying taste when it comes to film. I never really cared for the Wizard of Oz, 2001 or Gone with the Wind. By that same token I love Sunset Boulevard, Bonnie and Clyde and Casablanca. Or modern film for every Dark Knight, Skyfall or Avengers, we get too many Battleships and Cowboys and Aliens. And the non-blockbusters can produce a dud like the Master but give us a great discovery like Safety Not Guaranteed.

One even wrote, that when people were able to like Avatar, they must love this one. When it comes to Avatar, I have to agree, one of the most disappointing movies. I'm one of the few who didn't like it at all.
