a manager's job at Taco Bell--- which, again, is honorable.

There are many positions out there that require a BA or 4 year commitment but don't specify which major, usually retail.

What I think you are saying is that a college education is not needed.

Well, you are right. It is not needed to survive. And many times you can make more money even without a college education than with.

But it's not about the money. It's about simple education. Now, people will pay more money, usually for someone with a college education, than without because they are an educated person.

But education is an end unto itself. That is why you get a college education, and not just a 2 year medical degree.

    Not exactly.

College IS NEEDED for some(like those who want to be a dermatologist or high school teacher or a myriad of other positions) but not for others AND there is this prevailing assumption out there that says college is the way to go, as if by default. I challenge that assumption. It is better for parents to keep an open mind as to the direction or path.

I think that people who would even do such a thing have absolutely no moral compass to them at all.

It is so wrong to do this. It's good to be accepting of people who are handicapped, but to actually go and make someone like that on purpose?

If someone were a paraplegic, would they want their kids to be too?

    This idea is insane.

Would it be unethical to do so?

If that is what parents want then they can easily achieve it without paying a geneticist. Just take Accutane, maybe a $150 investment on line, in large dosages while pregnant and the parents will achieve their warped and crazy desire.

I'd like to be able to hear. Like a dog will work.

What is wrong with being able to hear as well as a dog? Or be able to see as well as um...something that sees really well (I was going to say eagle, but they are VERY far sighted)?

I mean, why is that bad? What's wrong with making everyone really really intelligent? Why shouldn't we get rid of genes that they know cause cancer or other problems?

I think helping people and making them more robust is a good thing.
