Right, and I find it very unlikely that they filmed everything. They only did so for promotional sense.

Martin's vids are probably the only still existing shots of some of these scenes.

    >>>Disney either has everything (certainly what is being sold by fans, which is almost entirely stuff from the last 20 or so years) or they can acquire it largely from Imagineers who worked on the projects and filmed it themselves.<<<

I'd have to imagine that that quality is not professional, then.

I mean, I'm fine going on youtube sometimes and squinting at the screen, trying to see Mr. Toad, but I'm not about to pay money for that same experience from Disney.

This is sounding like D23... Lots of blather and fluff... and then in the end, a very boring product.

How about a non-celebrity Imagineer? You know one of the new breed?

    --LOL !

truth be told there likely needs to be a mix on the team-- some old farts like me that canmake sure those things nostalgic to us are not overlooked - and someone younger to make sure all that is archived is not schmaltz - but also objectively relavent

Lots of documentation is necessary in order to make sure things like Haunted Mansion's stretching room wall paper from '71 is properly applied to the texture maps, etc.

I'm 99% certain this has to do with digitally building CG environments from days gone by.

(And wouldn't this be a nice thing for management to have the next time a protest breaks out over removing things like Lincoln? "Hey, you'll always have Lincoln... on your Yesterland app.")

My opinion on your opinion on his opinion on the speculation is that your opinion is horribly ignorant.

And you dare call yourself a cowboy philosopher.

    Makes me sick.

Like one of your friends? Who are desperate to see the old farts fired so they can move up the Imagineering food chain and take control? Those new breeds?

It is time for Tony, Fitz, Rhode and others to let go of the reins. They've held them for a long time. Some of which they did was good, some was awful.
They can and should be a part of the next generation, but they are not the primary users of it.
